‘Sherlock’ Casts Toby Jones As Villain Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Toby Jones will join Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the upcoming fourth season of “Sherlock.” BBC News reports he’ll play a villain in the second episode, which began filming today. “I’m excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in ‘Sherlock,'” Jones said in a statement. Co-creator Steven Moffat added, “Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains.” Now let the speculation began as to which Sherlock Holmes foe he’s playing. Following his breakthrough role in 2006’s “Infamous,” Jones has appeared in such films as “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” in which he played Arnim Zola,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” and “The Hunger Games.” His television roles include “Marvel’s Agent Carter” and “Wayward Pines.”
