At 65, Rajinikanth is still that quintessential style icon. The delirium generated by the recently-released teaser has caught even those who could never dare to write him off by a huge surprise. Remember that only recently, it was asked if the Thalaivar had lost his mojo among the non-Tamil audience. The not-so-noteworthy run at BO of Kochadaiiayaan and Lingaa made the critics wonder if they should say that Rajini as male lead has overstayed his welcome. Questions were raised regarding the palatability of a sexagenarian romancing heroines much younger than him. Some even asked if it was sensible to show Rajini indulge in a gravity-defying fight or two, in the climax of Lingaa.

The way Kabali's teaser has crossed one crore likes in three days must put to rest the detractors' attempt to write off the male lead Rajini. Of course, Kabali's director might not have committed the mistakes (read the climax fight, for example) KS Ravikumar did in Lingaa, but what is clear is that Rajini can still make the audience go crazy by merely saying 'Kabali raa..'.

Huge will be a small word to define the reception garnered by Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' teaser that released on May 1 (Sunday). Within the first three days of release the teaser surpassed one crore views in YouTube shattering all the previous records created by the teasers of Indian films. The teaser has also receive 3,70,000+ likes so far which is reportedly the second highest for a film teaser in YouTube.

Director Pa.Ranjith the mastermind behind this teaser is far away from all these celebrations as he is busy supervising the last leg of post-production works of the film.

When the Indiaglitz correspondent contacted the the 'Madras' director this what he had to say about the response received by the teaser.

"Though I liked the teaser, I was initially afraid about the fans' response. The teaser has been cut in an unusual way and all of us were anxious on how it will be received by fans. However Thanu sir was confident about the teaser and he kept saying it will be well received. I am now happy that the teaser has satisfied the fans of Rajini sir. This has also enhanced my confidence about the film."

Ranjith also confirmed that the 'Kabali' music album composed by Santhosh Narayanan will be released within the end of May.

'Kabali' is an underworld flick in which the Superstar plays an ageing don. The film's ensemble star cast includes Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dhanshika, Dinesh, Kalaiyarasan, John Vijay and many others.
