Chandralekha-Subplots borrowed from While You Were Sleeping
Chandralekha, released in the year 1997, starred Mohanlal, Sreenivasan, Sukanya, Pooja Batra and Nedumudi Venu in lead roles. Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor played a cameo role in the flim. The movie was later remade in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. Chandralekha was the first Malayalam movie to gross 10 crore at box office. The movie idea was taken from 'While You Were Sleeping', a romantic comedy film directed by Jon Turteltaub. Sandra Bullock played the lead in 1995 released movie.
