Housefull 3 had a decent opening 35% at both multiplexes and single screens. The film has probably taken the third best opening of the year in terms of occupancy after Fan and Baaghi with the former being released on a partial holiday. The initial is far better than Akshay Kumar's last release Airlift which took a low opening and progressed well through the day. The release is the widest of the year with it hitting 2500 sites which will be around 3600 plus screens. Fan hit 2350 sites and Baaghi 2000. The opening is best in the multiplexes of Rajasthan but single screens but the single screens in Rajasthan should have opened better due to the following of Akshay Kumar but maybe the dull performance of Akshay Kumar starrers in these parts since Holiday are taking a toll on the initial. Infact single screens across the board should have opened better. The film has big expectations and despite the opening being decent its going to be about what happens over the weekend with the key family audience as from this start its hard to see that 20 crore nett number so it has to get there either on Saturday or Sunday with growth.

Housefull 3 has done well on day one with around 15.50 crore nett as per early estimates. The opening will be the second best opening day for an Akshay Kumar starrer behind Singh Is Bling which was released on a national holiday. The big plus is the gap is not much and only around 1 crore nett despite that film releasing on a big national holiday. The opening day will also be the second highest of the year after Fan. The opening is not a huge opening which settles the fate on day one so it will be about what happens on Saturday and Sunday. The film is for families so even if the growth is not huge on Saturday, it will still have a chance to put up a big Sunday. The film has fared better in multiplexes than single screens which could be down to plenty of English in the film or its been a long time since an Akshay Kumar starrer has really performed in single screens. A good performance in single screens would probably have meant the biggest opening day for an Akshay kumar starrer.
Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan have previously worked together in two films, one of them being classic family drama ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and other being ‘Lakshya’. Reportedly, the two big celebrities of the industry may collaborate for YRF’s upcoming titled, ‘Thug’. Reportedly, the ‘Krrish’ actor has asked Vijay Krishna Acharya, the director of the movie, to make some changes in the script. However, there haven’t been any official announcements regarding the same. Hrithik is currently prepping for ‘Kaabil’ and ‘Mohenjo Daro’, while Big B is all set for ‘Te3n’ which is slated to release next week. Vijay’s last directorial venture was blockbuster ‘Dhoom 3’.
Amitabh Bachchan recently revealed that he will seen playing a grey character in ‘Aankhen 2’. The movie after its grand announcement faced some setbacks such as its lead actor, John Abraham, backing out from the film. Aneez Bazmee, will be directing the sequel of the film. The director revealed that the sequel will not retain cast from the first installment except Big B and they are looking for different faces. The first installment of ‘Aankhen’ had Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen playing lead roles along with Amitabh Bachchan. The other details of the movie are yet to be revealed. The filmmakers are hunting for the suitable star cast for the film.
Ribhu Dasgupta’s ‘TE3N’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan has received a U/A certificate from the censor board. Producer Sujoy Ghosh recently took to Twitter to announce the same. He wrote, "'TE3N' gets a U/A with no cuts from the censor. But the board was so cool... Great group of people." The film is set to release on June 10.
