According to Italian publication, Gazzetta delloSport, Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Arsenal have made contact with Jamie Vardy. The Guardian reported last night that the Gunners had triggered the England international’s release clause and is free to negotiate a move to the Emirates. “It’s all true,” Ranieri told Gazzetta in a short statement when contacted about the rumours. The ball is now very much in Vardy’s court. The striker, who is gearing up for England’s first EURO 2016 game in eight days time, is likely to command a considerable increase in his earnings should he join Arsenal; a six-figure weekly salary has been widely quoted.
in most games i watched they would be camping in opposite penalty area with intricate passing...i think vardy wud get stuck in traffic jam...i feel higuan wud be better option for arsenal as he was for the last few years.. moreover will arsene sign a 29 year old? its highly unlikely that they will recreate this season but atleast he can play with them in ucl.. but again with arsenal how likely is he to have epl winners medal again..i think highly unlikely with wenger there..yes vardy may get more salary at arsenal than the current 80K at leicester.. maybe another 20K more.. anyway lets see..
Its more likely he will win something with Arsenal than at Leicester. That is for sure. Plus, Vardy earns 60k a week at leicester ehich will be doubled to 120k a week. Its not really up for debate whether Wenger will sign a 29 year old, the bid has been confirmed by Ranieri himself. I watch all Arsenal matches, even the dead rubbers. The number of times ozil gets frustrated with Giroud not making runs is enough to convince me of Vardy. And its not like Arsenal dont play counter attacking football. Wenger was the master of it. Right from when he joined right up till the invincibles Arsenal where known for their explosive football. Pacy athletic players tearing down oppositions. Post the invincibles there has been a general shift to more technical players, you really dont have the breed of Henry, Pires, Freddie, Vieira who combine insane athleticism with sound technique. So it was natural for Arsene to move towards another system. Doesnot mean that he cant go back to something he is revered for, if push comes to shove. Instead of seeing the Vardy transfer in isolation, the past few transfer windows should be taken into account as well. Buying Ozil who is the best passer in Europe. Alexis who is a pace merchant and chases people in the final third. And most importantly this window we have Xhaka, a superb superb player who breaks down play and sets counter attacks in motion with his rapier like long balls. We are linked with Rodriguez, one of the best attacking leftbacks and we have bellerin on the right. So maybe, just maybe, Wenger is going back to the good old days of blasting teams away on the counter. I will be very happy with Vardy. He could flop, but atleast it is a start. Hopefully he will agree to come. Reports suggest that terms are already agreed.
Champions League teams Leicester vittaal Arsenal alle ullu. City has Aguero, Spuds have Kane. Abroad is not really an option for English players
