10/06/2016 PVR,1:00pm 50% Te3n is a calm & subtle cinema which has more than enough thrills to keep you hooked throughout.The cohesive forces behind this cinema are its powerhouse performances & the brilliant narrative pattern.Ribhu Dasgupta should be applauded for keeping things as realistic as possible & for giving a logical explanation for the happenings,he should also be credited for bringing out the best from his cast.Amitabh yet again proves why he is considered as one of the finest actors in india,he was just living through the role of John Biswas,the grief,guilt,disturbance,helplessness & finally the big fat relief - each & every emotion of the character was superbly brough outt by him,such an effortless & thunderous performance by this man ,Look out for his amazing act towards the climax.Nawazuddin played the role of Martin who is an ex-cop turned priest seeking redemption,he never fails to leave a mark,superb performance .Vidya in an extended cameo was fine,did her part with ease.Bachchan - Siddqui,Siddiqui - Vidya,Both these were excellent and helped in elevating the film .There are not much of an actors in this film,Sabyasachi Chakraborthy as Manohar was okay,the least effective performance. 1st half basically sets the base of the plot,it mainly dwells into the angela case & connecting it with the current rony-case,it moves on a certain calm pace for making things settled.Pre-interval portions were damn racy,the interval twist was forcefully made predictable which showed the makers brilliance.2nd half is aa complete whodunnit,it was edgy,gripping & emotional.The finale was superb,rather than making it too emotional,the director gave a logical reasoning to the earlier happenings & showing the modus operandi.A smart & well made climax . Technically,Dop was top-notch,The rustic & busy streets of Kolkata was captured amazingly,Kudos to Tushar for making this one visually striking .The colour tone used was also perfect for this genre & the mood which the film carries.Editing was perfect.Music was good,Haq Haq song is my pick.Bgm is superb & gelled completely with the proceedings.The story & screenplay had all elements to make it a well knitted thriller.Ribhu Dasgupta made a fabulous cinema out of this story,his characters are raw,the situations are believable,the movie has a striking emotional connect & has enough thrills & chills to qualify as a well made cinema.All in all,Te3n serves its purpose rightly & rises upto the expectations.
