Over the past few days, there have been numerous reports that Super Star Rajinikanth has been unwell and that he has been undergoing treatment to some kidney related issues in the US. Rajini’s absence at the much hyped audio launch event of Kabali has added fuel to these rumours.

However, 2.0’s producer Raju Mahalingam of Lyca Productions laughed off Rajini’s ill health rumours in an interview to a Sri Lankan magazine. The producer clarified that Rajini is totally fine and that he will comeback to India soon after completing his extended family vacation.

Due to Rajini’s absence, Kabali’s release has been tentatively postponed to July 15.

 

It is known that Shankar is currently busy working with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar for the big budget flick, Robot 2.0.

The cast and crew have been working hard to bring Shankar’s vision to life, and the film has been progressing at a brisk pace. Shankar recently gave an update on the film’s progress through his Twitter handle. He tweeted, “100th day of 2.0 shoot. Ufff…Finished two major action sequences including the climax with Superstar n Akshay. Loading 50%.”

The buzz is that Lyca Productions is planning to release the teaser of 2.0 on Thalaivar’s 66th birthday on December 12. Keep watching this space for more updates.

 

Director Shankar who has been busy with the shoot of his 2.0 for over three months finally took to Twitter yesterday to announce that the film has got past 100 days of shoot.

In this timegap, Shankar has completed two big action sequences including the huge climax scene with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

Shankar will now move to oversea locations with his team to can the rest of the film, which will be wrapped up by the end of the year. AR Rahman has already composed three songs for this big budgeted venture which has Amy Jackson as the heroine.

      Rajinikanth is seen having a conversation with Shankar in the photo and the superstar looks young in the snap. Rajini will reportedly be seen in two roles of robot Chitti and its creator Dr. Vaseegaran in the forthcoming movie.
      
      Currently, the "2.0" unit is busy shooting key portions in Chennai. Shankar has wrapped up some important sequences of Akshay Kumar in different get ups at Forum Mall in Vadapalani and Pantheon road in Egmore recently. Akki plays the role of Dr. Richard, a gifted scientist, who turns into a crow after a lab experiment goes wrong.
      
      Rajinikanth will be joining the shooting once he returns from his holiday in the U.S.
      
      The movie was launched on Dec. 7 last year with a simple pooja and the shooting was kick-started on Dec. 16. The first schedule was shot at a set erected in the outskirts of Chennai. Since then, it has been filmed in many places, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
      
      The shooting has been completed as per plan and hence, there is a possibility of the movie hitting the screens in April 2017.
      
      Meanwhile, the buzz is that the teaser of "2.0" is likely to be released on Rajinikanth's birthday (Dec. 12). The first look posters might be released for Diwali.
      
      "2.0," which has Amy Jackson in the female lead, is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster "Endhiran – The Robot." The upcoming movie is written and directed by Shankar. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project, which is being simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
