    Pawan Kalyan, Suriya, Prithviraj join hands for Mumbai film fest

    Leading southern film stars Pawan Kalyan, Suriya and Prithviraj Sukumaran along with their Bollywood counterparts Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham and filmmaker Paresh Mokashi have pledged their support for this year's Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.

    The event is organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI).

    "The Call for Entries films feature diverse talents from across India and illustrates that cinema is truly an art form that unites. I am extremely grateful to them all for participating in this initiative and encouraging filmmakers across India to send us their films," Anupama Chopra, the festival director, said in a statement.

    Last year saw the likes of Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani with Chopra and filmmaker Chaitanya Tamhane participate in the Call for Entries.

    Last month, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh and Suriya -- all avid supporters of MAMI -- announced the Call for Entries for this year's edition of the festival.

    The final submission deadline for the festival ends on August 10.

    Popular southern film stars Pawan Kalyan and Suriya have extended their support to the reputed Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, which will be held from the 20th to 27th October. Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival is organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), which has noted film critic Anupama Chopra as its Festival Director.

    It is well known that Pawan Kalyan gave an exclusive interview to Anupama Chopra during the release of his last film, Sardaar Gabbar Singh. Apart from Pawan and Suriya, Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran and Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Riteish Deshmukh and John Abraham too have lent their support to the festival.

    Busiest Malayalam Actor Prithviraj is working for his next film titled Ezra and it is expected that the actor to join hands with Gautam Menon.

    Sources close to Prithviraj reports that Gautam Menon has recently met the actor and narrated a multi-starer film. Prithviraj, who impressed with the storyline, has given his immediate nod for it. Gautam Menon is in plans to make the film in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada versions.

    The film is about four friends who meet and set for a road travel forms the crux. Puneeth Rajkumar, Varun Tej, Anushka and Tamanna are said to play other roles in the film. The majority of the movie to be canned in the USA. However let's wait for an official confirmation soon. (Filmy Malayalam)
