Rustom is looking at a 50 crore nett weekend with Sunday business set to be around 19.75 crore nett. The Sunday could have probably gone higher but there are capacity problems with many multiplexes in big cities unable to go much higher as they were already doing 75-80% on Saturday. The spare capacity was in single screens and mass areas but there the film is not as strong as it is in city multiplexes. if the film was a solo release, the Sunday would have been the highest ever day for an Akshay Kumar release This should prove an advantage tomorrow as it repeat the occupancy of today at multiplexes. Mumbai has grown best on Sunday as despite competition as Mumbai circuit can handle two releases together with the least affect on collections compared to other circuits.






Mohenjo Daro does not have the capacity problems like Rustom as its business is much lower so managed to go as far as it could with around 12.25 crore nett for a weekend of 30.50 crore nett plus. The collections are low but the trend is decent as it has managed decent growth on Saturday and good growth on Sunday. The problem is with such a big budget you have to get an initial, 20 crore nett opening is probably too much to ask considering its a clash but it had to getting there or close to it on Sunday to recover its huge cost.

Mohenjo Daro had a low weekend of 30 crore nett plus although the trend of the film is better than what could have been expected after the first day. The film could have just catipulated as Rustom is doing very well but managed to grow on Saturday and Sunday. This won't really make much difference to the final outcome unless a miracle happens on Tuesday. The best business for the film has come in Nizam / Andhra which has clocked 2.50 crore nett over the weekend and is actually the third biggest opening in that circuit Sultan and Fan. The main markets of Mumbai and North have not done well, there has been growth over the weekend but even the Sunday numbers in either Mumbai or Delhi / UP are poor. The knives will be out for Hrithik Roshan after this as the not only has the film fared poorly but also did not open, even the Overseas market could not open. But Hrithik Roshan is an established star so the stardom remains intact unless this start to happens all the time. There is a problem with selection of subjects as he is still to cross the 200 crore nett mark despite being one of the few stars who has given a couple 20 crore nett plus openings. Its the same for akshay Kumar but there the volume of work is much higher and the initials less.



Hrithik Roshan did a similar film like this Jodhaa Akbar which also did not do too well. He tends to work well in the commercial action format as even a Bang Bang managed 140 crore nett which is a good number though it was not a big hit due to huge costs. But over the last few years there has been a Jodhaa Akbar, Guzaarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and now Mohenjo Daro and with this sort of stuff, the Hrithik Roshan brand takes a beating. He is an established star and there is time to pull this round but it has to be quick as that image of a smart action dance star could be hit as youngers stars try establish in the same image.
