Dileep sees the positive side of being a prisoner, next


Hollywood's cult prison movies such as 'Cool Hand Luke' and 'Shawshank Redemption' had an underlying message about the positive side of life as a prisoner.

Dileep's upcoming film 'Welcome To Central Jail' too apparently follows the same route, says the actor.

"The film will show the life of prisoners and jail in an entirely different light from what has been shown in Malayalam cinema," says Dileep. "It's about this guy, who has spent most of life in and out of prison. He's not a criminal per se, but more of a do-gooder. His presence inside the jail premises makes way for several positive moments in the lives of other convicts as well."

The movie will have the actor with a host of young comedians from the industry including Aju Varghese, Dharmajan, Kanaran Hareesh and Sharafudheen. "It's always fun working with young talents as we get to bounce off ideas. In today's films, the stress is on situational humour and these guys are really good at it. Early in my career, I have showcased everything possible with slapstick humour and so, director Sunder Das has tried to bring in a mix of both for the movie," says Dileep, about the movie that is scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam.
