    Cesc Fabregas was the first Chelsea player to tweet his thanks to Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese got the sack this Thursday afternoon.

    Mourinho was given his P45 by club owner Roman Abramovich in the wake of the Monday night defeat to Leicester, which was really the straw that broke the camel’s back, leaving the champions languishing down in 16th spot, just one point above the relegation zone.
    Chelsea have become a laughing stock this season, but it really seemed as though Abramovich was going to give Mourinho the benefit of the doubt, and allow him to navigate the club out of the crisis.

    But Abramovich today decided that the rot had set in too deeply, and that a change was needed.

    It was interesting that Fabregas was the first player to tweet support to Mourinho; the Catalan has been dropped several times this season, and had even been (spuriously) rumoured to be the dressing room mole.

    But it appears Cesc hasn’t forgotten how Mourinho saved him from his tough time at Barcelona (where he was essentially a squad player), and made him a central cog in a title-winning side.

    It will be interesting to see which Chelsea players follow Cesc’s cue, and which just so happen to ‘go offline’ for the next few days.

    No way I resign. No way. If the club want to sack me, they have to sack me because I am not running away from my responsibility. Why? Because Chelsea cannot have a better manager than me. There are many managers in the world that belong to my level, but they are not better. Not better. So no chance I run away. :V :V
