    There was a classic tweet and delete situation overnight, as the official Twitter account for the Australian national team congratulated Guus Hiddink on becoming the new Chelsea manager.

    The Socceroos tweeted out the message: Our former boss has taken charge at Chelsea. Good luck Guus!


    That tweet was quickly retracted, however an article still exists on the Socceroos official website confirming Hiddink as the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

    Hiddink previously managed the Socceroos too.

    The Mirror today report the following:

    Emmanuel Adebayor has moved a step closer towards relaunching his Premier League career in January. Adebayor is believed to have joined his representatives last week in holding talks with officials from Chelsea, West Ham and Watford.

    BBC reporter Garry Richardson came to the fore earlier in the season when he announced on radio that he’d heard one Chelsea player admitted he’d rather lose than win for Jose Mourinho.

    That announcement started a domino affect of rumours of finger-pointing, which resulted in the Secret Footballer labelling Cesc Fabregas as the Chelsea rat.

    The Secret Footballer has since apologise to Fabregas for spreading that rumour, which he’s admitted was false.

    Be that as it may, Garry Richardson was back on BBC radio last night to relay new quotes from Mourinho in which he claimed he had some “bad apples” in his squad.

    Speaking in the wake of Mourinho’s sacking, Richardson said one of his sources had told him the Portuguese spoke of his frustration at being unable to handle the disruptive influences.

    The quote is apparently 100% accurate.
