Swallows and Amazons Swallows and Amazons is a sweet and absorbing cinema like a vintage bedtime story.This one has anything new to offer,but still manages to keep you engaged.The fine making along with the charming performances of the children are the factors which holds this film together.Dane Hughes,Orla Hill,Teddie Rose & Bobby McCulloch were supern playing the lead parts,its their earnest performances which enlightens the proceedings. Philippa Lowthrope being a debutante director did a pretty good job.She indeed managed to give a decent cinema in her debut.The making is simple and entertaining,really apt for a movie of this genre.In short,the children will love this for sure and is a decent watch for others. Overall,Swallows and Amazons is Entertaining ! 7/10
Prisoners Prisoners is a masterfully executed emotional thriller.The well layered performances and a polished narration makes this a compelling watch.Jake Gyllenhal and Hugh Jackman puts up competing performances,both of them were equally brilliant.The Supporting Cast were really good with their performances Dennis Villeneuve as the director did a superb job.His makings had all the factors to keep you engaged throughout its running time,this one is indeed wonderfully executed.The technical richness of this movie is worth mentioning,top class dop and smart bgm.The most haunting part of the movie is its climax,undoubtedly a brilliant ending for such a superb movie. Overall,Prisoners is a Compelling Watch ! 9/10
I Am Not a Serial Killer I Am Not a Serial Killer is a cinema with a difference.This one is a completely different take on the usual theme of mass murders.Structured as a thriller,this one has enough nail biting moments to keep you glued.Max Records and Christopher Lloyd were superb playing the leads,its their towering performances which makes the proceedings interesting. Directed by debutante Billy O'Brien,this one offers a good one time watch.His making is impressive providing some edge of the seat moments at regular intervals.The Bgm is another worth mentioning aspect in this film,it was superb and indeed made many of the scenes enthralling.The only drawback was the hurried climax,a litle more interesting ending could have made this a lot better. Overall,I Am Not a Serial Killer is Watchable ! 7/10
Hacksaw Ridge Hacksaw Ridge is a very good movie.The movie is based on the true story of Desmond Doss(Andrew Garfield) a conscientious objector(basically he doesn't support the idea of killing even in war) who served as a medic with US army during world war II. The movie is a bit old fashioned(in a good way)The performances are good all around.Garfield,Vince Vaughn,Hugo Weaving,Sam Worthington,Luke Bracey all did well.Mel Gibson has helmed the movie well.The battle portions are terrifying and heart pounding. Not that many of like this are made today.I hope it fetches academy award nominations for Gibson and Garfield.The battle scenes are very violent and bloody as the horrors of battlefield are presented without holding much back.A very good movie in my opinion I would rate it around 8/10
Saw some other movies too recently.here's a quick recap Solace The idea of Anthony Hopkins playing a psychic who helps the cops catch a killer who also happens to be a psychic sounded like it could be a bit dumb fun to me.Turned out to be just dumb.Avoidable stuff. Deliver us from Evil This is a horror movie that came out in 2014 starring Eric Nana.Directed by the guy who made Sinister and Dr.Strange.The film is more of a Supernatural thriller than a straight out horror film.The premise is interesting enough and it is competently made.Somehow the movie kind of lost steam as it progressed.The movie is almost 2 hours long and frankly a shorter length could have served the movie better.Not highly recommended but not a bad movie either
Donnie Darko Donnie Darko is a change from the usual thrillers,this one is a superb mix of science fiction and pyschological thriller.The eerie atmosphere along with Jake's intense portrayal makes this an engaging watch.Jake is superb playing the title character to perfection,every nuance of him clearly brought out the mental trauma faced by the character,a brilliant performance in all means.Others were good,Jean Malone was the best among the supporting cast. Richard Kelly's making is top notch,the pace and environment he chose to execute the plot was effective enough.The only negative is some of the exaggerated sequences,they indeed brought some boredom during the proceedings.In short,this one is definitely not an edge of the seat experience,but has enough and more factors to qualify as a good cinema. Overall,Donnie Darko is Good ! 7.5/10
Middle School : The Worst Years of My Life Middle School is a cinema which keeps you entertained, this one is a finely crafted comedy.This cinema has nothing new to offer nor has an intriguing plot to keep the viewers enthralled,but some nicely worked out comedies along with the jovial narration makes this an engaging watch.The performances are praiseworthy,every actor did their best to makes the proceedings interesting.Griffin Gluck,Alexa Nisenson,Isabella Moner and Thomas Barbusca were impressive playing the leads. Steve Carr's making fits a movie of this genre perfectly,simple and entertaining,he indeed follows the style of his previous flicks such as "Paul Blart" and "Dr.Dolittle",everything is kept simple.This one from the very start itself is a joyful ride,nothing of serous or complex stuff is discussed in this flick,a perfect comedy outing which will surely appeal to the children. Overall,Middle School is Entertaining ! 7/10
Deepwater Horizon Deepwater Horizon is a gripping cinematic experience.Based on true events,the film has got a narration pattern which is similar to Sully,the atmosphere is kept extremely raw and realistic.Mark Wahlberg delivers one of his career best performance,he did a commendable job.Kurt Russel puts up another brilliant performance,he shines top among the supporting cast.John Malkovich,Gina Rodriguez and Dylan O'Brien were good playing other prominent roles. Directed by Peter Burg,this one manages to be an engaging watch.Technically,Deepwater Horizon is a slick product, the highly captivating visuals backed by the brilliant vfx makes this visually appelaing.The technical fineness is one of the aspect which escalates the quality of the movie.Bgm is another superb factor,completely in sync with the proceedings,it is indeed one of the factors which made the last hour nail biting. Overall,Deepwater Horizon is Good ! 7.5/10

A though provoking subject backed by captivating narration and Jake's brilliant performance makes this a gripping watchmThis one is a complete Jake show,his performance is juts fabulous,a brilliant portrayal of such an intense character.Others were good in their respective roles. Dan Gilroy should br applauded for crafting such a fine thriller.His making has got that factor to make the viewers fully engaged to the proceedings,powerfup presentation.Bgm is awesome,that bgm during the climax is just amazing. Nocturnal Animals Tense,Gripping and Edgy,Nocturnal Animals is a one gem of a cinema.Beautifully acted,superbly written and masterfully crafted,this is a cinema which you can't afford to miss at any cost.Performances of the lead cast are super strong.Jake once again get into the skin of the characters and delvers a fabulous performance,he did both the characters with utmost perfection,each nuance of him is a delight to watch.Amy Adams puts up another superb show,she is extremely good with her performance.Michael Shannon made his presence felt,good performance. Tom Ford as the director did a smart job.The way he handled such a complex theme is worth mentioning,his narration is highly impressive and grabs your attention right away from the start.The soundtracks were spectacular,right from the beginning,the proceedings were filled with some superbly absorbing tunes and those timely bgm made it further more engaging.In short,this a a great cinema and a must watch. Overall,Nocturnal Animals is Great ! 9/10
