Date : 12/01/2017 Theater : PVR Cinemas Time : 7:15pm Status : 100% A much seen plot and a muddled up execution, these two factors makes Bairavaa end up as an average cinema. The familiar setting and the cliched build-ups spoil the fun to a large extent.Bairavaa may turn out to be a one time watch just for some finely crafted sequences, most of it featuring the one man entertainment - Vijay.Coming to the performances, without any second thoughts,it is Ilayadhalapathi who holds this film together.Being his ardent fan, some of the sequences were enthralling,it is indeed a treat to watch Vijay in mass avatars. His performance and charismatic screen presence is the only saving grace of this film.Jagapathi Babu is wasted in a poorly sketched villain role,he is often depicted as villain without any sense.Keerthi is fine though she ha nothing much to do.Sathish and Thambi Ramiah appears as the comic lads, but unfortunately both the actors couldn't make us laugh.Vijayaraghavan and Seema G.Nair were good in their respective roles. Technically,Bairavaa is an ok product at best. The sub-standard cgi works are indeed the worst aspect of this film, none of the scenes featuring this vfx was impressive.Cinematography is good, some of shots during the action sequences were really good.Editing could have been better,at least trimmed by about 20 minutes, the final product could have been better. The songs were not much impressive and often felt those to be the speed breakers.Varlaam Varlaam bgm is superb without a doubt and it is one factor which elevated some of the sequences. The former half ended up on a watchable level with a terrific interval block,Vijay was superb in those sequences and his power-packed dialogue delivery made it even more better.Second half started on a fine note, again provided with some goosebumps sequences, the proceedings were pretty good. The worst part of the movie is its lackluster climax,it made the total movie to be an average stuff, such a poorly crafted ending,it was like those 90's comic flicks featuring commandos and sniper. Bharathan as the director could not make this a fully satisfying entertainer, even for ardent fans of Vijay like me.The biggest drawback is his narration which seems to be highly cliched and boring at times. The basic plot had all the elements which could have been made into a fine entertainer and it indeed touches upon some relevant social issues. His making was below-par at times, even the song placement was poor.In short, except for some high voltage mass sequences and displaying some relevant issues,Bairavaa is not at all a satisfying cinema.Keep your expectation really low so that you might find this to be an average cinema, watch it just for Ilayadhalapathi who is in terrific form. Overall,Bairavaa is an Average Entertainer ! Verdict : Average Rating : 5/10 B.O Verdict : Superhit
