Thugs of Hindostan goes on floor in June: Aamir Khan



Aamir Khan celebrated his 52nd Birthday with the media today at his residence wherein he revealed that working with Amitabh Bachchan in Thugs of Hindostan is a dream come true.



The superstar, who is riding high on the success of Dangal when asked about the much spoken about Rakesh Sharma biopic, reportedly titled Salute, said,



According to BOC, “The only film I am doing right now is Thugs of Hindostan. We are yet to lock a proper look for the film. I am experimenting with several looks and the current look is just one amongst them. The film goes on floors in June.”



Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs of Hindostan is slated to release during Diwali next year. Apart from the YRF film, Aamir Khan will also be seen in a special avatar in Secret Superstar that releases in August this year.

Thugs Of Hindostan brings Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen together for the first time, It is said that they will be playing pirates in the movie but we aren’t too sure about this because no such confirmations have been made by the makers.



The latest buzz doing the rounds is that Amitabh Bachchan will play a father figure in the big budget movie. The Bollywood legend will play father to Aamir Khan’s character for the first time, according to Bollywood Life.



The report adds that they both will be playing pirates in the movie but makers are yet to officially confirm the developments.



While the leading lady in the film is yet to be announced, ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ is expected to go on the floors in May.

 

Netflix signs Rs.120 crore deal for 'Thugs Of Hindostan'?



Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan's pictures with the Netflix CEO Reed Hastings went viral a couple of days in the past. The latest buzz is that, Netflix has signed a whopping Rs. 120 crore deal with the makers of Aamir Khan's next ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’.




The deal could see the film premiering online instead of television after its theatrical release. Bollywood Life reports that Netflix has signed an exclusive satellite and digital rights of the film. Aamir Khan is expected to retain theatrical and music rights of the film.



A source told SpotBoye, “Netflix wants to buy the rights of all films of Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan which hit theatres from now on. This means that you will see the films of these two Khans first on Netflix and not on Sony/Star/Colors/ZEE.”



Thugs Of Hindostan, is touted to be India’s answer to Pirates Of The Carribean. The film brings together Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir on the big screen for the first time. The leading lady hasn’t been finalised yet though names like Alia Bhatt, Vaani Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh were being considered for the role. Thugs Of Hindostan is slated to release on 2018.

 

Bollywood star Aamir Khan has beaten a massive record that was previously held by Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0. It’s well known that the makers of 2.0 had sold the satellite rights of the film to Zee TV for a mind-boggling Rs 110 crores. However, recently, Aamir Khan inked a deal with a streaming service for a price that’s even higher than the 2.0-Zee TV deal.



According to reports in Bollywood, Aamir Khan has signed a Rs 120 crores deal with Netflix for his next film and in return, Netflix will have ownership of the film’s satellite and digital rights of the film. Ever since ‘Dangal’ turned into a blockbuster, Aamir Khan’s films had become a goldmine to stakeholders and several production houses have been eager to collaborate with him. In a way, Netflix has made an early move in this segment by roping in Aamir Khan’s next film. The streaming giant has also signed a similar deal with Shah Rukh Khan and now they have the rights to all the films made under SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that, Aamir Khan is working on a biopic of Rakesh Sharma, India’s first astronaut. More details about this ambitious film are awaited.
