The second schedule of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 61st film, referred as 'Thalapathy 61' has commenced in Chennai on Friday (March 3). The film had its first schedule in the sets erected in ECR by Art Director Muthuraj in which Vijay took part. The lead actor will be taking part in the second schedule also.

Today, we learn that actor and director SJ Suryah who is said to be playing a negative role in the film has started shooting for 'Thalapathy 61'.

Suryah has directed Vijay in the blockbuster 'Kushi' that released in the year 2000 and turned out to be a path breaking film in their respective careers. Suryah played a guest role in Vijay's 2012 blockbuster 'Nanban' directed by Shankar and the duo did not have any combination scene.

Now five years after 'Nanban' Vijay and Suryah will be shooting together for a film and the two immensely talented celebrities are expected to share the screen space substantially in this film.

'Thalapathy 61' is being directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films banner.

 

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 61st film directed by Atlee is progressing in Chennai. The team has completed the first schedule of shoot in ECR and the second schedule is currently happening in Binny Mills. The 1980s period portions in which Vijay plays a village head are continued in the ongoing second schedule also.

Director Atlee and Vijay teamed up for the first time to deliver the blockbuster 'Theri'. The film released on April 14, 2016 as a Tamil New Year treat. Now we learn from a reliable source that the makers of 'Thalapathy 61' are planning to celebrate the first anniversary of 'Theri' by revealing the title of the film or by releasing the First look poster which would also reveal the title.

We hope this plan materializes and Vijay fans and movie buffs get to celebrate the Tamil New Year Day with the title or first look poster of 'Thalapathy 61'.

There is a strong buzz doing the rounds that the first look poster of Vijay 61 has been planned to be unveiled on the 14th of April, 2017 to commemorate the 1st year anniversary of Theri’s release.

Our sources close to the team have informed that the makers do have a few titles in consideration. ‘Moondru Mugam’ is apparently one of those titles that could make the final cut. However, we are told that the team is also considering few catchy one-word titles, something similar to ‘Theri’. There are also rumors that say that the title could be christened after Vijay's character in the film.

But we are also told that the title has not been finalized yet as some claim and the official announcement regarding the first look release date can be expected soon.

 

As reported earlier, the 2nd schedule of Vijay 61 is taking place at the outskirts of Chennai for the past few days. Art director Muthuraj has apparently erected a hospital set up at Binny Mills near Chennai airport. The set supposedly looks like the story is set up during 1975.

There are a few leaked shooting spot images of Vijay 61 that are spreading in social forums which feature Vijay in white and white ‘veshti-sattai’ with blood on his shirt at a hospital. Based on this photo alone, there are many ways to interpret the story of the film but we do not want our imaginations to spoil your movie watching experience.

The title of Vijay 61 is a never-ending guessing game. Last week, a section of media was reporting that Moondru Mugam is the chosen title of this upcoming Vijay-Atlee film. We had indicated that the team is looking for a one-word title. Our sources close to the team have denied the title of Moondru Mugam.

Now the latest we hear is that the makers are trying to acquire the title rights of Superstar Rajinikanth-Mani Ratnam cult classic film Thalapathi. Wouldn’t that be a fitting title for Vijay? We have known him as Ilayathalapathy for quite a while now and will he be called Thalapathy going forward? Let's wait and see

However, it must be noted that the title is still only in consideration stage and has not been finalized yet. So let us wait for an official confirmation from the team before celebrating.
