Moana The name Disney Studies is enough to expect a quality stuff and Moana is no exception.The superb voice acting,the splendid musical tracks and a captivating narration makes this a wonderful animated musical drama.Auli'i Cravalho renders the voice for Moana in the most soothing and charming manner,her brilliant voice acting made the character a bit more good.Dwayne Johnson giving the voice for Maui was indeed a welcome change,he is one among the few actors who is not much seen as a part of these animated flicks,anyways he did his part impressively. Ron Clements - Jon Musker,the director duo did a smart job making this a highly entertaining cinema.From the very start itslef,the film manages to hold your attention proving it to be a completely engaging watch.The musical tracks were amazing and indeed made this one a notch above.The pleasant and moving songs synced perfectly with the proceedings made this superb on the whole.In short,Moana is a joyous ride that is sure to make you entertained. Overall,Moana is Superb ! 8/10
Clue(1985) Clue is a 1985 mystery/comedy movie which is higly enjoyable.Six strangers come to a house upon invited by a stranger.A cook,a maid and a butler are in the house.Nobody knows why they are here.Soon a murder occurs and these people have to figure out who is the killer among them. Clue is the kind of movie which is very much a product of it's own era.It is kind of dated but there is a certain charm and wit about it.I enjoyed the movie very much.
Moonrise Kingdom Rythmic and Absorbing,Moonrsie Kingdom is a well made cinema.Wes Anderson's textured and polished way of storytelling backed by the superlative performances made this a good watch.Bruce Willis and Edward Norton were easily the ones who dominated the cinema,their subtle and brilliant performance was indeed a treat to watch.Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward were fine,their onscreen chemistry is worth mentioning.Then comes Bill Murray and Frances McDormand who puts up yet another superb performances. Wes Anderson has carved a niche for himself as a top-notch filmmaker.Moonrise Kingdom is certainly a craft which shows Anderson's mettle as a quality director.The soothing musical tracks and the exquisite frames made the proceedings even more engaging.Vfx was surprisingly below par,it could not match high standards set by this cinema.On the whole,this is really an appreciable venture,Do give it a try. Overall,Moonrsie Kingdom is Impressive ! 8/10
Band of Robbers Throwing in the iconic characters of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer in a dubious adventure of crime and comedy,Band of Robbers offers an entertaining watch.The engaging narration backed by the superb performances and spot on humour makes this an impressive cinema.Kyle Gallner and Adam Nee excelled in their roles,it is indeed their combo which makes the proceedings interesting.Othesr were fine in their respective roles. Aaron and Adam Nee,the director duo have packaged this one smartly infusing all elements needed to make for a perfection entertainer. There are some real lol moments,one being the scene where they try to loot the pawn shop.The technical aspects were perfectly in sync with the cinema.In short,this one is sure to make you entertained. Overall,Band of Robbers is Entertaining ! 8/10
Memories of Murder (Korean) The stunningly detailed narrative pattern and the well nuanced performances makes this a gripping crime drama.With a perfect plot that suits a movie of this genre,the makers have crafted a memorable cinema.The performances were subtle and restrained with every actor delivering exactly what the character demands.The lead actors were superb in particular. The narration is just fabulous.With each event crafted in an utmost realistic manner,the film never fails to hook your interest.The film has many haunting and disturbing moments,primarily,the climax which was terrifically shot.On the whole, this is one among the finest crime dramas. Overall,Memories of Murder is Superb ! 8.5/10
The Darjeeling Limited It was indeed a delight to watch a hollywood cinema with India being the major backdrop.The makers have cleverly infused the indian culture into a highly entertaining and hilarious narrative pattern.The performances by the three leads were impressive,their onscreen combination is one factor which makes the proceedings fun.Owen Wilson,Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman were superb. Wes Anderson neatly packages this film proving it to be a joyous watch.The use of some of traditional indian tunes in the background were soothing to hear.The authenticity in the portrayal of India is really appreciable.On the whole,The Darjeeling Limited is a cinema which will entertaining you for sure. Overall,The Darjeeling Limited is Entertaining ! 7.5/10
Headshot(2017) Headshot stars Iko Uwais(the hero of The Raid movies) as a man who is found injured in a beach at the beginning of the movie.He wakes up after two months in a hospital without any clue who he is.Soon he comes to know that some very dangerous people are after him and violence ensues.. . The story is pretty basic and predictable but that is OK.The story is just there to get us from one action scene to the next.The fights are well choreographed and very brutal.Action scenes are the biggest plus for this movie. There are a few minuses too.The movie stumbles towards the end as the running time weighs it down somewhat.The ending goes on a bit too long . This film will satisfy an action movie fan.Personally I feel The Raid 1&2 are better movies.But this is a movie worth checking out. Rating:6.5/10
Ruby Sparks Ruby Sparks is a beautifully crafted romantic drama.A not so seen plot has been presented in the most absorbing manner which made this an effervescent cinematic experience.Paul Dano comes up with one of his finest performance as Calvin,he easily got into the skin of the character and delivered a flawless act.Zoe Kazan with her charming looks and earnest performance made the character of Ruby Sparks lovable.Among the supporting cast,it is Chris Messina who puts up an impressive show. The expectations were indeed high for this one since it came from the makers of "Little Miss Sunshine".Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris,the director duo yet again crafts a simple yet an alluring cinema.It is their refined and enticing narration that made both their movies a delightful watch.One thing which should be mentioned for sure is the pleasant tunes that got well the proceedings,it even made things a notch above.Altogether,Ruby Sparks is a one of those movies which brings a smile into your face - A Must Watch. Homefront Homefront is a pretty engaging action thriller.The entertaining narration backed by the superb performances and some smartly choreographed action sequences makes this a fine one time watch. Jason Statham delivers a fine performance in his trademark style,he doubtlessly performs the action scenes with much needed elan making it a goosebumps watch.James Franco was good as the antagonist even though his role didn't have the required intensity.Winona Ryder,Izabella Vidovic and Kate Bosworth were good playing prominent roles. Gary Fleder takes the template route of action thrillers where the protagonist is pitted against a series of events and is forced do all the actions single handedly.Still,the movie makes you engaged for the way in which it has been crafted.Dop was superbly done,both the action sequences and some other shots were fabulously taken.Bgm and other aspects were good.To sum it up,Homefront though a regular stuff offers a fine and entertaining watch. Overall,Homefront is Engaging ! 6.5/10
Arrival(2016) Possibly the best movie I saw in some time. 12 UFOs appear on earth suddenly in twelve different locations.The movie follows the USA government's attempts in making contact.Anything further I say plotwise could be spoilery. The movie is beautifully written well acted and directed.Dennis Villeneuve has made another winner with this one.Seek out and see this please. My Rating:10/10
