    ലോകസിനിമയെത്തന്നെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ഇന്നേവരെയുണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ളതില്‍വച്ച് ഏറ്റവും മുതല്‍മുടക്കുള്ള സിനിമയായി എം.ടി.വാസുദേവന്‍നായരുടെ 'രണ്ടാമൂഴം' 'മഹാഭാരതം' എന്ന പേരില്‍ വരുന്നു. മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ഭീമനായി വേഷമിടുന്ന ചിത്രം പ്രമുഖ പ്രവാസി വ്യവസായി ബി.ആര്‍.ഷെട്ടിയാണ് ആയിരം കോടി രൂപ(150 മില്യണ്‍ യു.എസ്. ഡോളര്‍) മുതല്‍മുടക്കി നിര്‍മിക്കുന്നത്. യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമായാല്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സിനിമയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ചെലവേറിയ ചിത്രമാവും ഇത്. എം.ടി.യുടെ തന്നെ തിരക്കഥയില്‍ പ്രശസ്ത പരസ്യചിത്ര സംവിധായകന്‍ വി.എ.ശ്രീകുമാര്‍ മേനോനാണ്. രണ്ടുവര്‍ഷമായി ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥ പഠിക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും ഗവേഷണങ്ങളുടെയും തിരക്കിലാണ് വി.എ.ശ്രീകുമാര്‍ മേനോന്‍.

    രണ്ട് ഭാഗങ്ങളായാണ് ചിത്രം ഒരുങ്ങുന്നത്. ആദ്യഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ചിത്രീകരണം അടുത്തവര്‍ഷം സെപ്റ്റംബറില്‍ തുടങ്ങും. 2020ല്‍ ആണ് റിലീസ്. ആദ്യ ഭാഗം പുറത്തിറങ്ങി 90 ദിവസത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ രണ്ടാംഭാഗം പ്രേക്ഷകരിലെത്തും. മലയാളത്തിനു പുറമേ ഹിന്ദി, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്, തമിഴ്, തെലുങ്ക് ഭാഷകളില്‍ സിനിമ ചിത്രീകരിക്കും. മറ്റ് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഭാഷകളിലേക്കും വിദേശഭാഷകളിലേക്കും ഡബ്ബ് ചെയ്യാനും പദ്ധതിയുണ്ട്
