Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion (Hindi) has continued its record smashing run with Monday business which has surpassed all it has done over the weekend in terms of records. The collections are set to be around 36-37 crore nett and if we take the 37 crore nett figure then outside Bahubali 2 (Hindi) then only one film has grossed more than this on its first day. That film was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015 which grossed a little over 39 crore nett and here it is the first Monday. The film is on an unbelievable run. It was a partial holiday which would have helped a little but not to the extent that it�smashes the records of all films bar one.


The total business of the film is now around 164 crore nett and the business tomorrow will give a better idea of the first week business as Monday was a partial holiday so the Tuesday drop will be more than normal (or should be more than normal as with this film you nver know considering what has happened over the past four days).



Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion (Hindi) is at record levels in every Hindi circuit where it was full release and the way it is going it has a very good chance of becoming the highest Hindi language grosser and maybe among the Top Hindi films (adjusted) of all time despite it being a dubbed film.

Baahubali: The Conclusion has lived up to its pre-release hype.

India does not report box office figures but, according to local media reports, Baahubali 2 collected $59.8 million (3.85 billion rupees) at the country's box office, which is the biggest opening of all time. Globally, it launched to $77.7 million, including an estimated $10.1 million in North America, a record showing for an Indian film.

In addition to Telugu, Baahubali 2 received a multi-lingual rollout in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. The film is a follow up to the 2015 blockbuster, Baahubali: The Beginning.

The Hindi version, distributed by leading Bollywood banner Dharma Productions, alone collected a record $19.9 million (1.28 billion rupees), besting the $16.6 million (1.07 billion rupees) earned last year by wrestling drama Dangal.

Baahubali 2 is the third Indian film to get an Imax release following 2013's Dhoom 3 and 2014's Bang Bang! The sequel earned $2.34 million from 66 screens globally, a record for an Indian film. The movie also recorded the biggest Imax opening in India for any film with $330,000, beating The Fate of the Furious.

Directed by well-known filmmaker S S Rajamouli, the two films were simultaneously filmed at an estimated budget of $40 million, making it the most expensive Indian production ever. The films are produced by Shobu Yarlagadda's Arka Mediaworks. The sequel continues the story of warring royal cousins in an ancient mythical kingdom and again features top South Indian stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannah and Anushka Shetty.

The first installment of Baahubali (which means the one with strong arms) earned a muscular $100 million worldwide, including $77 million in India. The film's success put the spotlight on the South Indian film industry, which is often over-shadowed by Hindi language Bollywood.

Expectations are high that Baahubali 2 could become the highest grossing Indian film ever with north of $116 million in grosses.
