    RAMANTE EDENTHOTTAM... NAMBU'S REVIEW

    Theatre - calicut pvs multiplex
    Slot - 1pm
    Status-30-40%

Ranjith shanker & anu sithara - the only names that made me excited to watch the film. I went calicut sree for 11am show, but for my misfortune, morning show in sree was take off. So i stepped into pvs multiplex for 1pm show. When i was entering to theatre, i saw anusithara&her husband coming outside aftr watching edenthottam. With that happy i entered the small coral screen of pvs multiplex.. 'Shokam' audience status

    *FILM*
A FEEL GOOD FILM which is not everyones cup of tea - ramante edenthottam can be short in this sentence.
I liked the film that is set on a simple family background with complex emotions..
Film looks REAL, and not like a cooked up one, main positive i think.

    *PERFORMANCE*

_ANU SITHARA_- The real show stealer of the movie. She performed beautifully. Her expressions of malini was safe&looks fresh. With her 'typical malayali elegence' she captivated the hearts of viewers.

_KUNJAKKO_ - Kunjakko with his usual feel good mannerism, elevated the film to a simple feel. His dialogue delivery&acting looked more matured and classic. Raman is entirely different from the feel good kochouvva of KPAC&philipose John varkey of LORD LIVINGSTON

_JOJO_- Performing an equal&important character to leads, jojo too captivated my heart with his pakka natural character alwis. I have seen many character like of alwis, done superbly.

_RAMESH PISHARODY_- i dont know why this man is not getting much roles in films, his comedy timing were impeccable. In some scenes, he even outplays all other characters with his comical dialogue delivery.

There were only minimal characters with MUTHUMANI & AJU VARGHEESE doing the same repeated acting style, SREEJITH RAVI was different.

    *DIRECTION*
Ranjith shanker is growing as NO. 1 FEEL GOOD MOVIE SPECIALIST of malayalam. His narrative style was superb, using wagamons natural beauty. I liked his presentation. Story at parts looks cliche, but main positive is it look REAL..

    *MUSIC*
Bijipals songs have the same fate of average status. All songs looks apt&good, but never comes with us after film. One song even have a tune similar to "neela kannulla maane" of shan rahman on pallavi. Bgms were superb.

    *CAMERA*
Beautiful frames by madhu neelakandan. Edenthottam was picturised beautifully. Madhu didnt foccused on framing natural beauty, but made it enlightening for minds. Starting scene itself
    was fresh.

    *FLAWS*
Its not a film that entertains every people, its a different genre that engages people who feel to detach from this busy life&to live at their passions.
If we look, we can see several flaws like cliche story, average climax, etc.. But i just discard those negatives in view of a feel goodness that created in me after watching edenthottam.

    *OVERALL*
Its not a film that entertains every people, its a different genre that engages people who feel to detach from this busy life&to live at their passions..
in short the cliche dialogue, ITS NOT EVERYONES CUP OF TEA..

    *BOX OFFICE*
    Baahubali still houseful

    *7/10*

STORY: Elvis and Malini have been married for more than a decade and the element of love has been absent from their life for ages together. Elvis strays outside the relationship often, while Malini leads a quiet life despite being a gifted artiste. Things take a turn once Raman, an environmentalist-cum-resort owner, comes into the picture.

REVIEW: Ranjith Sankar’s latest movie is titled Ramante Edenthottam, but probably it should have been named after its leading lady, Malini. The beauty of the Edenthottam is definitely a major part of the movie, however, its heart is Malini’s journey of self-transformation. A story about how a languid, indignant homemaker emerges as a confident woman who sets herself free, the film is a simple tale that many women today would be able to connect with. A film producer with more of flops to his credit, Elvis (Joju George) claims that he is happily married. He has a graceful, obedient wife Malini (Anu Sithara) at home and enough of freedom to ‘have fun’ with ‘chicks’ when he feels like. The ‘cool’ man says he wouldn’t mind his wife too treading the route if she wishes. Once on a trip to Wagamon on a vacation, the family meets Raman (Kunchacko Boban), who leads a nearly ascetic life and he forms a bond with the initially spiteful Malini. Ramante Edenthottam is delightful with some stunning, green visuals of the beautiful Edenthottam. You would want to take a break and head to rest on its lap. The story it says isn’t one we haven’t seen or heard of. It is what stands for and against the film, at the same time. Women who are forced to crush their dreams and needs, being victims of smothering, unequal marriages, despite being talented, are all around us. It does make you feel that long gone are those who feel life goes for a toss, if stuck with an ill-treating partner. Not only would they break-free, they would surge ahead, even forgetting any hatred for the ex-partner, being neck-deep drenched in peace and the newfound freedom. We have seen umpteen movies about them, even in Mollywood. Ranjith Sankar’s movie stays free of any drippy sentimentality that generally comes along with such stories and you see Malini’s character handling it all with poise and grace. All that said, the film still doesn’t offer many take aways, moments or something special that stay with you once you leave the hall. Those contemplating on a fit-cation or a radical break, try watching Ramante Edenthottam, for it can definitely offer a decent dose of slow yet steady rejuvenation.

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get next. The film 'Ramante Eden Thottam' is a very poetic, bold and realistic approach to the socially relevant topic of suppressed womanhood. Written, directed and produced by Ranjith Sankar, the film is a romantic family drama that highlights the complexities of today's relationships.

The plot of the movie revolves around Malini (Anu Sithara), the young and talented wife of Elvis (Joju George), an unsuccessful Malayalam film producer. Raman (Kunchacko Boban) is an entrepreneur who helps to grow jungles amidst concrete jungles in big cities and is also the owner of a forest resort, Elvis and his family visit. Malini's gradual growth as an individual and her relationship with Raman forms the soul of the movie.

The movie has a surreal as well as a realistic feel to it. It discusses many bold topics that are seldom discussed in Malayalam films like extramarital affairs, suppressed womanhood, self respect, afforestation and enjoying life to the core. The director has succeeded in making the film connect with the audience despite some dialogues being a bit over dramatic. The lag and the slow pace that sustains throughout this 2 hour 2 minutes movie is one of its biggest negatives.

Madhu Neelakantan's cinematography elevates the beauty of the movie and takes the grandeur of the Raman's Eden Garden to an implausible level, in spite of having some shaky frames. The music and the background score by Bijibal also have the required soothing effect that will induce the feel of a cool breeze present in misty hilltops of Nelliampathy.

Good acting by the entire cast especially Anu Sithara, Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, Sreejith Ravi, Muthumani and Ramesh Pisharody add substance to the movie. Aju Varghese seemed as an irrelevant part of the movie placed merely to generate some humor, as his character did not have much to accomplish.

The movie will definitely satisfy people who like poetry, nature and truly understand the essence of life.

Verdict: A beautiful short story which could have been dealt with a better engagement
