'Tiyan is a pan-Indian movie'

With its intense look and intriguing portrayal of the protagonists, the trailer of Jiyen Krishnakumar’s Tiyan has already hit the right note.

The movie, which will hit the screens during Eid, may have some realistic elements to it, but is every bit an entertainer, says scriptwriter-actor Murali Gopy.

He says: “Tiyan is a movie shot entirely out of Kerala, so it can be called a Pan-Indian venture that explores the concept of Indian realism.”

The writer, who also plays the role of a godman in Tiyan, says the movie looks deep into the mind set of different individuals.

But, is there not a strong religious element in Tiyan? He says: One cannot say a truly Indian tale without touching upon its religious fabric. It is in the DNA of our country.”
The writer also adds that Tiyan might deal with some serious issues, but it is meant to entertain, like all his other ventures.

“One cannot bracket Tiyan into a specific genre. It is a potent mix of many genres. But, Tiyan is an entertainer. I give paramount interest to entertainment quotient while working on a script. There is no compromise about its entertainment aspect,” says Murali Gopy.
Tiyan has Prithviraj and Indrajith in prominent roles. While Prithviraj plays the role of a Aslan Mohammed in the movie, Indrajith’s character is called Pattabhiraman. The first look of all the three actors reveals their unique get up.

In fact, Prithviraj has raved about his character. He has posted in his Facebook page that “each line that Aslan has said and and each emotion that Aslan has felt stays with me”.
Tiyan also have Padmapriya and Ananya in prominent roles. Indrajith’s daughter Nakshatra will also make her debut in Mollywood through the movie.
