Theatre: Kairali Trivandrum Date: 30/12/2015 Status: Almost Housefull I went with a lot of expectations as tr team of ABCD had returned with DQ and the irresistable Parvathy as the heroine. DQs look had caught the attention of the filmgoers and the hype associated with his mysterious look and the movie helped it to set some initial records. Plot: The plot of the movie is Tessa aka parvathy pursuing Charlie aka DQ after she stays in an apartment which had been earlier used by DQ. About the Movie: Charlie is a beautiful cinematic experience. There are a lot of cliches but the way it is presented in screen takes away all the cliches. Direction and Screenplay: Martin Prakatt's forte is his screenplay with an ability to provide brilliant visuals and eye catchy moments. Charlie has to be his most difficult movie to execute as it has no mass or outright funny scenes like his two earlier movies. His treatment of the story is worth mention and there is no lag in either half. Story/Script: Unni R has written a very feel good story with which a very capable technical team has given the audience a visual treat. Performances: Dulquer has a mesmerizing screen presence which is difficult to match in the younger crop of actors. He exudes tremendous charm on screen. His dialogue delivery in malayalam has improved leaps and bounds. No need to guess who the next superstar will be. His name is Dulquer. Parvathy as Tessa is gorgeous on screen. She is extremely natural as Tessa matching DQ frame to frame. An actress who can act and at the same time look beautiful. Nedumudi Venu shows us with his short role why he is considered a legend. All other supporting actors had their roles well sketched out. Camera: Jomon T John proves yet again that he is in stepping up to the league of his gurus Amal Neerad and Sameer Thahir. Yet again we hear claps at the begining when Jomon's name is shown. Music and BGM: Malayalam's top muisc director Gopi Sunder yet again delivers in style. Pularikalo was stunning and his bgm was as usual terrific. Having seen all the movies released in Christmas, Charlie takes the cake. Rating: 4/5
