AJITH KUMAR
(born 1 May 1971) is an Indian film actor working predominantly in Tamil cinema . He has won three Filmfare Best Actor Awards , all for films which showcased him in multiple roles. In addition to his acting, Ajith, in a sabbatical, participated in the 2004 British Formula 3 season as a Formula Two racing driver and was ranked the third best motor car driver in India at his peak.
He began his career as a supporting actor in a Telugu film before gaining critical recognition in the Tamil thriller Aasai (1995), before going on to establish himself as a romantic hero with Kadhal Kottai (1996), Aval Varuvala (1998) and Kadhal Mannan (1998) being the most notable. He was later seen in method roles as in Vaali (1999), Mugavaree (2000),
Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000) and
Citizen (2001) before establishing himself as an action hero with popular films, including
Amarkalam (1999), Dheena (2001), Attagasam (2004), Varalaru (2006), Billa (2007), Mankatha (2011), Arrambam (2013), Veeram (2014),
Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Vedalam (2015).
Ajith remains a popular figure in the media of
Tamil Nadu , making headlines for his relationships before his marriage to former actress Shalini ,and his controversial statements in a few occasions. Ajith was listed No. 51 in Forbes India's Top 100 Celebrities for the Year 2014.

Chennai Rains: Thala Ajith Donates 60 Lakh Rupees

Recently, we had reported that Tamil actors and actresses are doing their best to help the rain affected victims of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. While some have donated money ,
others are making sure that food and shelter are provided to those who are in need. The latest such news is about Thala Ajith 's contribution.



According to a report that's been doing the rounds, the Vedalam star has donated a whopping 60 Lakh rupees and more than 3500 bed sheets, in an attempt to help the people of Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
It is said that the contribution has come from Ajith's 'Mohini-Mani Foundation', a non-profit organisation, that was established by the star actor many years ago.
It is to be noted that Ajith's wife Shalini had given away food for more than 400 people in Chennai. "We are preparing some fresh and hot food to help out the folks in Chennai. We will be able to feed about 400 or more people."
