10/01/2016 Pvr Lulu , 5:15pm 70% Maalgudi Days is a failed attempt in spite of its good story.Amateurish making by the director trio spoils a good theme.Other than Scenes between Anoop & the 2 children,the whole movie makes you bored.Casting of this movie is a complete failure,none of the actor's put up a decent show except Anoop Menon & Saiju Kurup.The 2 Children looks cute but struggle performing in most of the scenes,the dialogues given to them were heavy. Both 1st & 2nd half fails miserably,Except some scenes,nothing was impressive in this 123 minutes journey.Maoist Sequences and the shootout scenes in the former half was taken so badly. Technically,Avg frames with overdose of helicam shots.It seems that the directors have invested more time in adding the number of helicam shots rater than presenting the movie neatly.Editing was also poor.Music was irritating and all songs were misplaced.Direction was amateurish by the director trio,they were not able to pull off a decent cinema in spite of a good there they had.The movie had all elements to qualify as a good one,But the amateurish making played the spoilsport.
