    The next magnum opus in Malayalam, 'Karnan' might start sooner than expected. Its being said that Mammootty has taken an extra bit of interest in the film, the script of which has impressed him thoroughly. It might come as a surprise to atleast some of us, that the film would be scripted by P Sreekumar. Earlier it was rumoured that M T Vasudevan Nair might be writing the script for this film as well. Its heard that Gokulam Gopalan and Hariharan plan to recreate the Pazhassi Raja magic yet again, and create a landmark in Malayalam cinema through 'Karnan'. If rumors that are pouring in are to be believed, 'Karnan' might turn out to be the costliest film to be produced in Malayalam, with a budget of about 30 crores.

    It is true that Director turned Actor Sreekumar Parameswaran Nair is working with KARNAN project for more than 25 years. I still remember he first sharing this project Mohanlal as KARNAN at house during the preparations of Kalipattam, which was directed by Venu Nagavalli. It's a big budget project and its very difficult for just Malayalam industry to get it viable, that was one reason this project was delayed. Am not in touch with him as I moved out of Trivandrum for the last four years, but knew he was working to executive his life dream project.

    When I first heard about KARNAN project recently of R S Vimal I thought it was the same one! The arena of Art is Open for all, and lets wait for the history of KARNAN to be told...
