Prithvi has done a lot of good, well defined characters and some of them enjoys a strong cult following...but they maynot be likeable to everyone. Classic example is Antony Moses. Our mainstreamsociety has an aversion towards LGBT communities. Actually the initial reviews of MP was too harsh! Movie, i feel doesnt get the kind of success it deserved.
DQ on the otherhand has played more likeable characters. Through movies like jomon , he tries to venture into family audience, while his characters on NPCB and Charlie (Bohemian influence) instantly connected with youth, especially urban youth. You are cent percent right regarding this. DQs choice of his movies and his unanimous support from all age groups( apart from being mammootys' son) is one of the main reasons for his intial collections. Other being, the way he/his team promotes the movies.

പൃഥ്വിരാജ്, റഹ്മാൻ കേന്ദ്രകഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ചിത്രമായ ‘രണ’ത്തിന്റെ സെൻസറിംഗ് ഇന്നലെ കഴിഞ്ഞു. ചിത്രത്തിന് U/A സെർട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്. ഒരു കട്ട്‌ പോലുമില്ലാതെയാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന് U/A സെർട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ്‌ ലഭിച്ചത്‌. സെൻസർ ബോർഡ്‌ അംഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും മികച്ച അഭിപ്രായമാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ അണിയറപ്രവത്തകർക്ക് ലഭിച്ചത്.

ഇഷ തൽവാർ നായികയാകുന്ന ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ സംവിധാനം നിർമൽ സഹദേവാണു നിർവഹിക്കുന്നത്. ആക്ഷന് പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള ചിത്രമാണെങ്കിലും മികച്ച ഒരു കുടുംബ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ നിന്നും അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഡിട്രോയിറ്റ്‌ എന്ന നഗരത്തിലെ തമിഴ് വംശജരുടെ കഥ പറയുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് രണം.
