Sanju has taken a huge advance at multiplexes in big cities while it is less at multiplexes of smaller centres and single screens but still it will be a huge advance collections for the film and possibly more than Race 3 on the strength of big city multiplexes. The advance of Sanju was started on Saturday at places compared to limited start for Race 3 on Sunday. The distributors have also done a good job at ticket pricing with Sanju as the ATP (Average Ticket Price) for the normal ticket is as good as the 3D ticket for Race 3. This helps to get a bigger number on the same footfalls. The final advance numbers at multiplexes have a chance to reach the highest ever for a Hindi film beating the likes of Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan and Dangal. Bahubali - The Conclusion is on a different level all together and even in multiplexes remains the biggest advance ever. If the fim stays short of Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai in terms of advance it will be because of the single screens and smaller town multiplexes. The film is a directors film which can be seen with the detailing of the main character Sanju which is based on the life of filmstar Sanjay Dutt. Rajkumar Hirani is probably the best director in Hindi films (at least thats what the numbers says) and this film can go anywhere. Basically the last Rajkumar Hirani film did 300 crore and the one before 3 Idiots did 200 crore and if this was an Xmas release then we would expect 3 crore footfalls again and today on the pricing Sanju has got it would be 400 crore nett. But it is not Xmas and those sort of footfalls could be hard to achieve as there is no extended holiday period period. This can be assumed to be a ridiculous thing to say as there is a difference between Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor today but that sort goes out of the window when its a directors film. Basically 3 idiots and PK belong more to Rajkumar Hirani than Aamir Khan and it is ditto with Sanju as its a Rajkumar Hirani film rather than a Ranbir Kapoor film. Ranbir Kapoor will probably get the biggest blockbuster of his career unless something goes drastically wrong somewhere but again its a bit like what Ranveer Singh does or what we saw in Dhoni where it is the personality of a historical character or a known character and the writers may rave as you have got close to that character but for that real stardom the audience needs the actors own personality which is why Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have the biggest fan bases in Hindi cinema.
