    African football players to join Prithviraj’s film

    After holding several auditions in Malappuram and Kozhikode to rope in local football talent for the film, starring Prithviraj and Asif Ali, the director tells us that he's on the lookout for African players as well to join the cast.


    "We are scouting for African players for the film right now. There are a few foreign teams that come to Kannur and Malappuram to play football and we are now watching their matches. We are planning to approach them to see if they are interested," says Jamesh. The photographer-turned-director tells us that the plan is to ask them to stay back for a training workshop in acting, along with the 30 local football stars already cast. "They will have to be in Kerala once the shooting starts by the mid of 2016," says Jamesh. The film is scripted by Ajay Kumar.


    The movie, set in North Kerala, is the tale of a local football team led by Prithviraj's character. It would mark Jamesh's directorial debut and is claimed to be the first "full-length football movie" of Mollywood.
