First things first, I am watching Maniratnam sir’s movie first on screen. Dare to say, the movie impressed me. The presentation from the Class director always holds the first place. Some were saying the film is slow, if they would have seen Godfather and all, they would have slept off then. This movie is presented in the exact way as it should be. Gripping story telling with a wafer script is a task, which is executed well by MR Sir and performed well by casts with suiting bgm’s.

Theatre: ETA Cinepolis Mall, Binnypet Mill (10:00 AM)

    Occupancy > 3/4th

The story is all same what we have been seeing in the normal gangster movies, A head Gangster, their sons, starting revolving around the family, then a police officer who is having close contact with one of the gangster but working for money, such usual glitches.

Aravind Swamy, Jyothika, Arun Vijay, Silambarasan, Vijay Sethupathy, Prakash Raj all have been sincere to their roles. Each and every scenes had some indirect way of storytelling where normal audiences will feel bored, but as I said, that’s the way it has to be. Climax portions were good, second half had more depth than the first. Revolving around main 4 actors/characters.

BGM was best of its kind, suiting the way of storytelling. Regarding songs, usually MR films had songs, but this one actually didn’t need that and MR Sir brilliantly excluded it. Importance was given for story presentation rather usual gimmicks like heavy slow motion, colourful songs and all.

Towards the climax, everyone will feel as usual ending, even though the Climax portion was more a sort of predictable one, VJS stealed the entire show.

TO THOSE WHO ARE YET TO SEE: Please don’t leave the theatre without watching the end credits, it has lot to do with the course of the film from the start till end. Do enjoy the film. Don’t go expecting usual Gangster films, expect Mani Ratnam sir’s class story telling which can’t be explained but has to be experienced form the screens and not from mini screens in home.

    My Rating: - 3.789/5

    Verdict: Super Hit
