അന്നയും റസൂലും,ഞാന്‍ സ്റ്റീവ് ലോപ്പസ് എന്നീ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം രാജീവ് രവി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് കമ്മട്ടി പാടം എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഫൈനല്‍ ഷെഡ്യൂള്‍ കൊച്ചിയില്‍ പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്. ദുല്‍ഖര്‍ സല്‍മാന്‍ നായകനായ ചിത്രം വിവിധ കാലങ്ങളിലൂടെ കഥ പറയുന്ന സിനിമയാണ്. മധു നീലകണ്ഠനാണ് ക്യാമറ. നടനും സംവിധായകനും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തുമായ പി ബാലചന്ദ്രന്റേതാണ് രചന. എറണാകുളം കെ എസ് ആര്‍ ടി സി ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡിന് പുറകിലുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ പേരാണ് കമ്മട്ടി പാടം.

ബി അജിത്കുമാറാണ് എഡിറ്റിംഗ്. വിനായകന്‍, സൗബിന്‍ ഷാഹിര്‍,വിനയ് ഫോര്‍ട്ട്,അലന്‍സിയര്‍ ലേ എന്നിവരും ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ട്. മലയാളി കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്ന് വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ ഗൗരവമായി ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്ത രണ്ട് സിനിമകളായിരുന്നു അന്നയും റസൂലും, ഞാന്‍ സ്റ്റീവ് ലോപ്പസും. മുംബെയിലാണ് കമ്മട്ടി പാടം ആദ്യ ഷെഡ്യൂള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായിരുന്നത്. ഉള്ളടക്കം,പവിത്രം,പുനരധിവാസം എന്നീ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് തിരക്കഥയെഴുതുകയും ഇവന്‍ മേഘരൂപന്റെ സംവിധാനവും നിര്‍വഹിച്ച പി ബാലചന്ദ്രന്‍ അഭിനേതാവായുള്ള തിരക്കുകള്‍ക്ക് ഇടവേള നല്‍കിയൊരുക്കിയ തിരക്കഥയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റേത്. മാര്‍ട്ടിന്‍ പ്രക്കാട്ട് ചിത്രം ചാര്‍ലി പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് ദുല്‍ഖര്‍ സല്‍മാന്‍ രാജീവ് രവി ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ജോയിന്‍ ചെയ്തത്. ബാഹുബലി,ഐ എന്നീ സിനിമകള്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്യുകയും ലോര്‍ഡ് ലിവിംഗ്സ്റ്റണ്‍ 7000 കണ്ടി എന്ന സിനിമ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത യുണൈറ്റഡ് ഗ്‌ളോബല്‍ മീഡിയയുടെ ബാനറില്‍ പ്രേം മേനോന്‍ ആണ് കമ്മട്ടി പാടം നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുന്നത്.

Be it Andrea Jeremiah as Anna in Annayum Rasoolum or Ahaana Krishna as Anjali in Njan Steve Lopez, the female protagonists were not the usual dolled up heroines. In his upcoming Dulquer Salmaan-starrer titled Kammatti Padam, he has roped in Shaun Romy as its heroine.


The film, partly set in the 80s, will showcase Kochi's old-world charm and Shaun will be playing one of its initial residents, named Anita.


"My character is a native of Kadavanthra, who was a resident here long before Kochi turned into a city," says the Bangalore-based Malayali biotech engineer. "It was a challenge to play the role especially because I am a city-bred girl and it needed a lot of homework."


As part of her research for the role, she flew down to Kochi before the start of the shoot to familiarise herself with original inhabitants of city, the actress tells us. "I spoke to a lot of such people who work in shops, markets and beauty parlours," she says. "It helped me learn the true Kochi slang, and gave me insights into the character."
The actress also adds that Rajeev Ravi's wife and director, Geethu Mohandas, who had auditioned her, gave her tips on shaping up the character. The shoot of the film is going on, and apparently, Shaun is enjoying herself. How was it acting with Dulquer, who also happens to be her favourite actor? "He's extremely patient. There were times when I needed a lot more takes to nail the scene. But he would constantly boost my confidence, saying, 'it's alright, you can do it!'" Shaun says, adding that the director's take-it-easy attitude puts everyone on the sets at ease.
