Cinema: Innovative Multiplex, Bangalore Status: Not great Plot: I am not divulging much, just in case there are people who have been living under a rock and missed the storyline that has been floating around since long. Yes, it is the same story I don't think it matters though, its all about the story telling prowess of the makers when it comes to thrillers. Unfortunately this one turns out to be a dud. Sajan has put in so much effort to make it mysterious and engaging that he slowly wears us down, to the point where we ask ourselves " enthengilum nadakuo". There is so much build up, trying to create a tense and suspense filled atmosphere, but there are scenes that are easy giveaways too. I don't know if anyone else could have done a better job with it, but I felt its something inherent in the script, the slowness that is. Terrible bgm, slo mo sequences that would put amal neerad to shame and a dull color tone are constant companions for all Nayantara scenes. These elements are so overpoweringly irritating that I didn't really appreciate her performance, if there was any. Nayans had a couple of expressions, which is one more than Sheelu Abraham could conjure up. You have to hand it to the lady, you can just imagine her rolling out her lines in the same tone and with the same dead pan expression, even if her ass was on fire. Rachana was OK. She has nothing much to do, which is obviously good. The villains, a bit clichéd but did OK again. Mammootty was great, and for me was the main positive in the movie. This is not the obligatory "positive" in all Big M movie reviews where you HAVE to say that they were good; he really was a bright spark with his one liners and keeps the audience entertained. Energetic and funny, something I don't usually associate with him And he does look amazing in the movie, unlike in BTR where he looked old even though the stills were all good. I did pick up some continuity issues, but nothing that can't brushed aside. Some scenes have been shot well, that along with Mammootty and a decent enough basic plot makes the movie an average one. Watched with ikka bhakthans @Tyler DurdeN and @Johnson Master Audience response was good and there was decent applause after the movie, which left us wondering if our 24*7 forum/social life is affecting our chances of being entertained by a movie.
