njan paranjallo bhai, I am not interested in a loham vs AHB comparison. I was merely enquiring about the logic in saying during Loham's time the ticket rates were unfavorable. Ente opinionil athallayirunnu reason:

1. As you rightly pointed out Cinepolis ticket rates aren't the biggest. Yes there might be the occassional shows like Q cinemas morning shows with lower rates, but overall Cinepolis rates are much lower than say PVR. And I don't agree with considering Cinepolis VIP as part of cinepolis because the number of shows are not really mutually consistent. For this let me consider Kanal

eg - Kanal first day -

Cinepolis - Total viewres 2455 = 320640.00 Rs (Avg - 130)
PVR - total viewers 2034 = 312980.00 Rs (avg - 154)

Ineepo Cinepolisinte koode VIP cherthaalum (which I really don't agree with), the avg rates become only 142, still much lower than that of PVR.

Loham had a gigantic proportion of shows in its first week from PVR Lulu - and that really helped its cause.

2. Loham down aayath opening weekend kazhinjath muthal aanu - ie first Monday onwards.

Day - Collection in lakhs - no. of shows

1 - 14.2 - 44 (Thursday)
2 - 9.4 - 42
3. - 9.4 - 42
4. 9.8 - 42 (sunday)
5 - 4.39 - 38 (Monday)
6. 4.58 - 38
7. 4.3 - 36
8. 2.17 - 15 (Thursday)

It registered 14.2 Lakhs on opening day with 44 shows, then averaged around 9.5 lakhs from next three days (proper weekend) from 42 shows (appo thanne nalloru fall aayi - without any substantial pickup during sunday. Then on first Monday it plunged to 4.39 lakhs from 38 shows... ie a drop of more than 50% from the previous day and with little show reduction. And worse it couldn't even make a comeback during the onam weekend and fell away drastically thereafter.

 

Loham didn't have to endure any signficant show reductions during its first week unlike AHB - athukond any benefits from cinepolis is washed away by a corresponding decrease in other multiplex shows alle? PVR okke ethre shows undayrnu AHBku?

Yep it had a free run.. mathravumalla had it got any decent response from BO after initial it'd certainly retain more no of shows in its second weekend (which also happened to be onam extended weekend).

Sorry I admit my ignorance on AHB shows and tracking in multiplex - since I already said I am not interested in a AHB vs Loham comparison (in terms of fanfight and all that). All I was thinking was Loham got 78 lakhs lifetime.

And just to address a few items in your post, - AHB had Mahesh releasing very next day alle? While Loham literally had no competition for a week or so. So drop edukkumbo ithukoodi consider cheyyande? Not to mention the time of release. For my benefit can you pls list AHB shows/and collection per day?
