Louis van Gaal is beginning to sound more and more like his Manchester United successor Jose Mourinho: he has an excuse for everything. Rather than simply admit that his side were absolutely shockingly terrible at Danish minnows Midtjylland tonight, he instead tried to explain it away with some daft reasoning. The Dutchman bizarrely blamed the ‘Law of Murphy’ on his side’s shocking defeat, invoking the nebulous law which essentially means ‘everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.’ Van Gaal used De Gea’s injury to explain this excuse….despite the fact that sub keeper Romero made no mistakes in the game, and was one of United’s best players.
