    Aa 40 theatre Shaji Renji combo il Mammootty vannethu kondu kittiyethaanu.. Akkalathokke political films nu adaar market aayirunnu. The King was a movie that satisfied the expectation.

    Spadikam on the other hand was a Bhadran movie, which is usually enjoyed by a sect and never his movie had universal success. Despite its cult status, Spadikam at that time had juxtaposing opinion. I recommended this movie to my dad who watches movie very rarely and was so dejected with the episode of son cutting his fathers dress. And in talk show at the same time Tilakan had opined similarly and even harshly. It had that vibe like Drishyam but for the contrasting opinion, it didn't do a Drishyam..

    NB:The King was just a "thattupolippan" movie while Spadikam was something beyond that, even when it was released.
