    Saphire, the main screen always screened English movies. It was considered a bit elite then and screening Malayalam cinemas only helped it.

    Have you seen theatres including Lido in MG Road, Bangalore screening regional movies? But Lido NS were mostly Malayalam. Narasimham ran more than 50 days.

    NB: I still remember a hoarding of Hindu in Bangalore those days. " Do you know, we are the largest selling English daily in Kerala."
