Arsenal is not just any old football club. It is a by-word for history, tradition and success. It is not just about the past and present. It is very much a club for the future too.

In August 1928, Arsenal, alongside Chelsea, made history by becoming the first football clubs to wear numbered shirts. A year earlier the first ever live radio commentary of a football match took place, between Arsenal and Sheffield United. Arsenal played in the first match broadcast live on television, against their reserve counterparts in 1937 and have since participated in the world's first live 3D and interactive football matches, both with Manchester United.

    Team News for Sunderland (Home)

Arsene Wenger says he’ll make a late decision on whether Theo Walcott will be involved in his squad for tomorrow’s game against Sunderland.

The England international hasn’t featured since limping off against Sheffield Wednesday with a calf problem in late October. Laurent Koscielny, injured last weekend, could also play a part tomorrow.

As was the case yesterday, the boss also underlined that he unable to give concrete information on the lay-offs for Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla.
