    Vishu season is considered to be one of the most benefited seasons for Malayalam cinema. The films releasing this season are guaranteed to get good returns.

    Let us take a close look at the Malayalam films which emerged as Vishu box office winners in the past 5 years.

    Three movies are out there for Malayalam film-goers to watch this Vishu. Jacobinte Swargarajyam which released on April 8th, King Liar which released on April 2nd and Kali which released on March 26th are there in the theatres.

    All the movies have received good reviews and have kept the box office ticking bringing in good revenue to the industry.

    2011
    Well, it was not that good for Malayalam cinema. Only China Town managed to bring in some revenue but even that movie fell after initial collections. Urumi which released towards the end of March continued its good run.

    2012
    The season was one of the best for Malayalam film industry. Mayamohini, which was a 2012 Vishu release went on to become a bumper hit. 22 Female Kottayam too, fetched good reviews and went on to get good collections.

    2013
    Once again, a Vishu season belonged to Dileep. Dileep's Sound Thoma went on to become a huge hit. Mammootty's Immanuel too, got good reviews and emerged as a hit.

    2014
    Dileep's movies know to pack the punch. In 2014, Dileep's Vishu release Ringmaster went on to become a big hit. Prithviraj's Seventh Day which got great reviews collected well at the box office.

    2015
    It definitely belonged to Bhaskar The Rascal which made a thunderous opening at the box office. Oru Vadakkan Selfie which got released on March 2015 too, got good collections during the season.
