Review Karinkunnam Sixes - A Pleasing Sports Drama !

Karinkunnam Sixes is a fine one time watch with its share of highs and lows.With the template setup of a sports-drama genre,the movie falls into the category of a cliched one,but has got its moments to make it a pleasing one time watch.The movie is neither great nor a substandard one,in short,it is an above average flick.Manju Warrier did her part well,to be frank,the role of Vandana is the most likeable & defintely the best one in her comeback,there is no excessive drama,she was subtle & effective.Among the supporting cast,It is Suraj who stands out with a superb performance,a completely different Suraj can bee seen on the screen,its good to see him coming out from the stereotype characters.Others were fine in their respective roles,nothing to mention though.

1st half had a slow start,the proceedings were pretty much dull until the jail comes into the scene,from there on,the movie gained pace & turned out to be an entertaining ride.Interval Block was fine.2nd half in short was a watchable one,Suraj's mass scene was superb ,hsi agressive look & rough dialogue delivery made it one of the best scene in the movie .Climax was fine,it was a bit over-dramatic,still ok .

Technically,The movie is fine,nothing great about the technical quality.Dop & Editing was ok,the game sequences could have been shot much better.On the editing side,there is a good amount of unwanted scenes which could have been easily trimmed.Music & Bgm by Rahul Raj is superb,it helped largely in keeping the proceedings engaging.The film has an impressive story,But the direction by Deepu was not good enough to make it a completely satisfying one,If conecentrated more on sports rather than this drama,this could have been much better.If you go without much expectations,Karinkunnam Sixes could turn out to be a fine watch.

Overall,Karinkunnam Sixes is a fine one time watch !
