Date : 22/04/2017 Theater : Cinemax Time : 12:40pm Status : 80% Simple and Engrossing,Power Paandi is a superb feel-good drama.The captivating narration backed by some poignant performances makes this a great watch.This one is basically a refreshing take on a human lives and emotions,everything wrapped under an invigorating theme.Rajkiran played the title character with utmost ease and earnestness,it was doubtlessly a strong and solid performance.He perfectly brought out every nuance of the character making it a stellar act.Revathi once again showcased her acting prowess,it was such a treat to watch her in a beautifully written role.Then comes Prasanna who did a commendable job portraying a prominent character.Dhanush and Madonna excelled in their roles,though it was a cameo which lasted for about thirty minutes,both the actors delivered impressive performances and their striking chemistrymanaged to make those flashback portions memorable. Technically,Power Paandi is a quality product.The frames were exceptional,the song sequences were superb in particular.Editing was good providing some timely cuts.Music and Bgm were simply outstanding,the soothing tunes indeed synced with the proceedings making it a great experience on the whole.Dhanush in his debut directorial venture proved that he is a filmmaker to watch out for,a plot that could have gone cheesy was neatly handled by the multi talented artist.The narration was exhilarating with every needed element perfectly woven into it.To sum it up,Power Paandi ranks among the finest feel-good dramas to have come out from Kollywood and is definitely a Superb Cinema. Overall,Power Paandi is Superb ! 8/10
