VETTAH

Vettah hits the big screen in a silent mode; free from trailers, other promotional programs and that made me more conscious about how much the director put faith in his work and for that reason I took ticket for Vettah on the very first day itself.

Anyway coming to the movie Vettah from Rajesh Pillai comes under the genre of psychological thriller executed in a decent way and follows a slow paced narrative pattern. The movie revolves around an investigation lead by Sreebala IPS, Commissioner of police. The problem when dealing with thriller films is that to ensure the thrilling factor in the film had to be kept away from the audience prediction until the secret gets folded in the last moment of film, otherwise the film collapse, fortunately that thing has worked well in Vettah.

Coming to the portrayal side, for the first time Manju Warrior comes in a police attire and I think she is able to do without much flaws. Indrajith was in the role assistant to Sreebala and that effort from him should be appreciated and moreover he done the portrayal neatly as usual. Next is Kunchako Boban, breaking his chocolate boy appearance he made that role to the perfection and he is the one to do bulk in the film. Only that smile in his face was enough to convey the mystery behind Melvin and he needs a big applause.Vijayaraghavan, Kaadhal Sandhya, Ronny David Raj,Prem Prakash Deepak Parambol, Kottayam Nazeer and Santhosh Keezhattoor are also part of the supporting cast with big and smaller roles and they done it sincerely.

Making wise, Rajesh Pillai proves once again he has the potential and Vettah is safe in his hands.More than the directorial glory Vettah takes advantage from it’s well written script by Arunlal Ramachandran, his tightly packed script and dialogues are the best part of Vettah and he is able to modulate this one as a completely mind gaming movie.

Technically, cinematography by Anishlal was brilliant enough to create the mood for the mystery thriller and editing by Abhilash Ramachandran is also upto the mark. Shan Rahman’s BGM blend with the movie and able to handle the mood of the movie, songs from him was just average.

Overall, Vettah from Rajesh Pillai is good enough to watch and I can’t say it’s a must watch or an highly recommended one but one thing I can assure that if you have a taste for thriller films then seeing Vettah never spoils your valuable time and it has it’s enough flesh for that….

മലയാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ മൈൻഡ് ഗെയിം ചിത്രം എന്ന ലേബലിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ രാജേഷ് പിള്ള ചിത്രം. ഒപ്പം കുഞ്ചാക്കോ ഇന്ദ്രജിത്, മഞ്ജു വാര്യർ എന്നീ പ്രതിഭാ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യവും. ശരിയാണ് ഇതൊരു കളിയാണ്, തലച്ചോറ് കൊണ്ടുള്ള കളി. ഈ കളി പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ഞെട്ടിക്കും എന്നുറപ്പ്. കുഞ്ചാക്കോ ബോബന്റെ മെൽവിൻ, പ്രകടനപരതയുടെ പൂർണതയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ മഞ്ജുവും ഇന്ദ്രനും കട്ടക്ക് പിടിച്ചു നിന്നു. അതിഗംഭീര തിരക്കഥ, കാച്ചിക്കുറുക്കിയ സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾ, പക്വമായ അവതരണ മികവ്. ഏത് തട്ടിലിട്ട് നോക്കിയാലും വേട്ട മികച്ചു നിൽക്കും. മികച്ച ഒരു ത്രില്ലർ സിനിമക്കായി ധൈര്യമായി ടിക്കറ്റെടുക്കാം ഈ വേട്ടക്ക്.

തുടക്കം മുതൽ ഒടുക്കം വരെ സസ്പെൻസും ദൂരൂഹതയും നിറഞ്ഞ സിനിമ അനുഭവമാണ് വേട്ട ഒരുപക്ഷേ അടുത്തിടെ മലയാള സിനിമ കണ്ടതിൽ വെച്ച് ഏറ്റവും ത്രില്ലിംഗ് ആയിട്ടുള്ള ക്ലൈമാക്സ് ഉള്ള സിനിമ കൂടിയാണെന്നും എനിക്ക് അഭിപ്രായമുണ്ട്. ഒരു പക്ഷേ ഇത് പോലെയുള്ള സ്ലോ സൈക്കോളജിക്കൽ സിനിമകൾ ഇഷ്ട്ടപ്പെടുന്ന വ്യക്തി ആയതുകൊണ്ടാകാം എനിക്ക് ചിത്രം നന്നേ പ്രിയങ്കരമായത്.

കുഞ്ചാക്കോ ബോബൻ മെൽവിൻ ഫിലിപ്പ് എന്ന കേന്ദ്ര കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ശരിക്കും അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന പ്രകടനമായിരുന്നു ചാക്കോച്ചന്റേത്. മഞ്ജു വാരിയർ ഭർത്താവിനാൽ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാത്ത ശ്രീബാല എന്ന ips ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥയായി വരുന്ന ചിത്രത്തിൽ പതിവിന് വിപരീതമായി ഭേദപ്പെട്ട പ്രകടനമായിരുന്നു ( പുട്ടിയുടെ അളവ് പതിവിലും കുറച്ചത് ഇച്ചിരി ആശ്വാസമായിട്ടുണ്ട് ). ഇന്ദ്രജിത് സുകുമാരൻ ഇതിന് മുൻപും നമ്മളെ പോലീസ് കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾ ചെയ്ത് ഞെട്ടിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതാണ് അതുപോലെ തന്നെയുള്ള വളരെ നല്ല വേഷമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം അവതരിപ്പിച്ച പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായ സയിലെസ് എബ്രഹാം.
ഇവർ മൂവരും തമ്മിലാണ് മനസ്സുകൾ തമ്മിലുള്ള വേട്ട നടക്കുന്നത്.

ചിത്രത്തിൽ മറ്റു കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളായി വന്ന കാതൽ സന്ധ്യ , വിജയരാഘവൻ, ബേബി അക്ഷര കിഷോർ , ദീപക്, പ്രേം പ്രകാശ് , സനുഷ , മിഥുൻ , സന്തോഷ് കീഴാറ്റൂർ, കോട്ടയം നസീർ എന്നിവരുടെ പ്രകടനങ്ങളും അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ അർഹിക്കുന്നു.

അനിഷ്‌ലാൽ നിർവഹിച്ച ഛായാഗ്രഹണം ഗംഭീരം. ഷാൻ റഹ്മാൻ സംഗീതം നൽകിയ ഗാനങ്ങൾ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ആ ഒരു മൂഡിൽ ഞാൻ പലപ്പോഴും ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല എന്നിരുന്നാലും പശ്ചാത്തല സംഗീതം ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ആസ്വാദനത്തിന് വളരെ നല്ല മുതൽ കൂട്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. അഭിലാഷ് ബാലചന്ദ്രന്റെ എഡിറ്റിങ്ങും നല്ല ഞെരിപ്പായിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ഈ സിനിമയുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ നായകൻ അതിന്റെ കഥയും അതിനേക്കാൾ ഗംഭീരമായ തിരക്കഥയുമാണ് അത് ഒരുക്കിയ അരുൺലാൽ രാമചന്ദ്രനെ എത്ര പ്രശംസിച്ചാലും മതിയാകില്ല . അതൊടാപ്പം തന്നെ പക്വവും മിതമാർന്ന അവതരണത്തോട് കൂടിയുള്ള രാജേഷ് പിള്ളയുടെ സംവിധാനവും ഈ ചിത്രത്തെ വളരേ നല്ലോരു അനുഭവമാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നു.

ഈ ചിത്രം അതിന്റെതായ സമയം അവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട് അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ചിലപ്പോൾ ഇടക്കെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ചെറുതായി ഇഴച്ചിലുക്കൾ അനുഭവപ്പെടാം അതൊക്കെ മറന്ന് ജോണർ മനസ്സിലാക്കി സിനിമ കാണുന്നവർക്ക് നല്ല കാഴ്ച്ചയാകും ഈ ചിത്രം അല്ലാത്തവർക്ക് ഓരോ ആഴ്ച്ചയും കടന്ന് വരുന്ന ഏതോ ചില സിനിമകളിൽ ഒരു സിനിമയാകും ഇതും.

ഇവിടെ അനാവശ്യ സംഭാഷണങ്ങളോ സീനുക്കളോ ഒന്നും തന്നെയില്ല പകരം നിങ്ങളെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത് ഒരു മികച്ച ത്രില്ലറാണ് , നിങ്ങളുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുടക്കം മുതൽ അവസാനം വരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ആകാംക്ഷയുടെ പിരിമുറുക്കത്തിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ത്രില്ലർ. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു അനുഭവം ത്രില്ലർ സിനിമക്കളിൽ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവരാണ് നിങ്ങളെങ്കിൽ കുടുംബത്തോടൊപ്പവും കൂട്ടുക്കാരോടൊപ്പവും കാണാവുന്ന മികച്ച ചിത്രമാണ് 'വേട്ട'.
