Talking about the film, Kabir said, "It's a compelling human story which like all my other films has a larger-than-life political backdrop."

When Kabir was asked if after giving two blockbusters with Salman he is feeling the pressure of expectations, the director said, "If I had felt the pressure, then after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ I would have made another action-packed Tiger that would have excited the distributors and not a warm, human story about a little girl. This time too, I went to Salman and after the narration he said simply, 'Great story, let's make it.' And that was it.”

"It's an interesting time for Salman and me. We enjoy a good working relationship and this is our chance to push the envelope. This film will be produced by him and I will line-produce it," he added.

There were reports that Deepika Padukone was roped in to star opposite Salman Khan in Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. However, it is now said that the actress has refused to star in the film as she is not happy with her role in it.

Deepika had asked Kabir to rewrite her character and giver her more screen space in the film, however apparently Kabir didn’t agree to give in to her request. So, the actress opted out of the film.

She is currently shooting for her Hollywood debut ‘XXX: The Return of Xander Cage’.

 

Salman Khan's next wth Kabir Khan to go on floors in July



Salman Khan and Kabir Khan have teamed up to give us two blockbuster films, 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and now the duo are all set to do one more movie together. Kabir has revealed to a leading tabloid that this film will hit the shooting floors in July.



Kabir Khan's next, according to the filmmaker, is a compelling human story which will follow the footsteps of his other films of having a larger than life political backdrop. In fact, the director is all set to take the film on floor in July this year. As of now, Salman Khan is busy with the sports drama Sultan which will release in the same month after which the superstar may allot his dates to Kabir for their next. On the other hand, speculations about the actress in Kabir - Salman's next venture is on and names of A-list actresses like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif are being tossed around.


Kabir Khan also mentioned that while Salman will produce the film, he'll be line producing this untitled venture.
