Prabhas turned out to be a hot hero in the Indian film circuit after the release of Baahubali: The Beginning. His fan base further increased with the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion last year. However, there has been no other film release for the star since then.

It is well known that Prabhas’ next film release would be Saaho, a sci-fi thriller directed by Sujeeth. The shooting for the film began in June last year and the first look poster featuring its lead star, Prabhas, was released on his birthday – 23 October. The film has Shraddha Kapoor playing the female lead.

The shooting for the film began last year but its progress has been stalled for various reasons. According to industry buzz, a crucial 60-day Dubai episode has not yet been shot. The team was supposed to fly down to Dubai to film an action block at the Burj Kalifa Towers and then move on to Abu Dhabi and Romania, where a major chunk of the film was to be canned. But things did not work out as per plans and the overseas schedule has been postponed indefinitely. It is also reported that director Sujeeth loves to reshoot until he is satisfied. This could also be the reason for the delay in the release of the movie.

Hence, the makers of this trilingual film are eyeing a Makar Sankranti release, which means the movie will hit the theatres next year. The filmmakers have huge plans for its release as Saaho will be out in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam, considering the pan Indian appeal of lead star Prabhas.

The rest of the star cast includes Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Lal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tinnu Anand, Aditya Srivastava and Narendra Jha. The film is bankrolled by V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and U Pramod under the banner UV Creations on a humongous budget of Rs 200 crore. Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy are composing music for this magnum opus with R Madhi cranking the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

With the release of Saaho being pushed, the Baahubali star plans to move on to his next project. Prabhas will be teaming up with director Radha Krishna of Jilfame. Pooja Hegde has been signed to play his lead pair in this romantic entertainer. The shooting for the film is expected to commence in July this year, say sources.
