Rustom is an upcoming Indian movie that stars akshay kumar thriller film written by Vipul K Rawal and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai which marks his debut in Hindi cinema. It features Akshay Kumar and Ileana D'Cruz in the lead roles.[1]Ankit Tiwari composes the film's music while Santosh Thundiyil handles the cinematography.[2] Principle photographycommenced on 5th January 2016.[3] The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 12 August 2016.

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom’ and Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Mohenjo Daro’ were slated to release on the same day – 12th Aug. However, it is now said that the former’s release date might be preponed by a week.

A source said, "Until recently, makers of both films were not willing to change their initial release date, but now it looks like ‘Rustom’ will arrive in theatres a week before 'Mohenjo Daro'."

A source close to the Akshay starrer said, "The decision was taken to avoid a situation where the business of both films would have been affected. Both films star big names and are highly anticipated; coming together on the same day would have been unwise."

 

Rustom’, a thriller film set in the '50s directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Neeraj Pandey, stars Akshay Kumar as a Navy Officer named Rustom Pavri and his female lead is Ileana D'cruz. Both the actors were recently spotted shooting for the film.

The film is based on Nanavati case wherein the naval officer tried to kill his wife’s lover. The film is slated to release by end of this year. Its release date was changed to avoid clash with Hrithik Roshan's film, ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
