Top actor Suriya is currently shooting for his upcoming film with Vignesh Sivan which is titled ‘Thaana Serndha Kootam’ which is said to be a remake of Bollywood film ‘Special 26’. The film also features Keerthy Suresh in the other lead role and Thambi Ramaiah in an important role. Suriya will next collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Selvaraghavan which will be the actor’s 36th film in his career. Selvaraghavan has now confirmed that the shooting for the film will kick off in January 2018 and will aim for a Diwali 2018 release. The yet to be titled film will be produced by S.R.Prabhu under the banner Dram Warrior Pictures.
Producer S.R.Prabhu posted on his Twitter message confirming the release which read – “Happy to share #Suriya36 Directed by @selvaraghavan to commence shoot by Jan2018. Cast & crew will be announced soon! #Diwali2018 release !! .” Selvaraghavan also wrote – “Good morning friends. Happy to be a part of such a prestigious project #Suriya36 and to direct a very special and gifted actor @Suriya_offl.“

Speaking about the film director Selvaraghavan had recently said, “With Suriya sir, just like I am a fan of Kamal sir and Rajini sir, the little fanboy in me would create moments that his fans would enjoy. This does not mean my style would go but it just meansthat, there would be some space for the fanboy to extract the kind of Suriya that this fanboy likes to see on screen.”

This untitled film will star Rakul Preet in the lead role and rest of the cast of the film will be announced soon by the makers. Diwali 2018 will be see some biggest releases with couple of other big films which include Ajith and Vijay’s upcoming films.

Monday has begun on a good note indeed! If the latest reports are to be believed, Suriya‘s much anticipated film with Selvaraghavan has locked in a release date – Diwali 2018! They have also announced that the film will begin shooting in Jan 2018. Double dhamaka for Suriya fans as his next film, Thaana Serndha Kootam will hit theatres around Pongal 2018 and he will begin shooting for his 36th project around the same time. When a talented actor and an unconventional director are teaming up for the first time, fans are bound to be super excited! This is quite the killer combination that everyone has wanted for a long time. It’s finally happening! The rest of the cast and crew ie yet to be finalised but reports suggest Rakul Preet Singh has almost been finalised for the female lead. Yet another first as Suriya and Rakul Preet Singh debut as pair with this project.
Suriya will soon be seen in Thaana Serndha Kootam, a film directed by Vignesh Shivn. The first poster was released on Suriya’s birthday. The film is touted to be a heist comedy. The Tmail star will be seen opposite Keerthy Suresh for the first time. Recently they released Sodakku, a song composed by Anirudh who happens to be partnering with Suriya for the first time. The son;g s groovy beats and its rustic feel has struck a chord with the audience instantly. Even the previous single Naana Thaana has been given a thumbs up. Fans are eagerly awaiting this release. The teaser will be out in November followed by the trailer and audio launch in December!

Suriya was last seen in Singham 3, the third part of the actioner franchise. The film starred Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty. The movie opened to average reviews but reportedly the film fared decently at the box office.
