As we all know, director Mani Ratnam has completed the first schedule of his new film 'Kaatru Veliyidai' which has Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyadari in lead roles. The supporting cast includes veteran actor Delhi Ganesh. RJ Balaji, Shradha Srinath and Vipin Sharma.
Now we have come to know about another prominent cast member of the film. Young theater artiste Vatsan Natarajan, who belongs to the theater group Unarviyam has bagged a role in the film. He has shot for the film in its first schedule in Ooty for five days.
The shoot is expected to resume in Chennai and he will take part in it. Then the team will be moving to Kashmir.
Vatsan has also acted in the Kreshna-Swathi Reddy starrer 'Yakkai'.

 

Much revered auteur Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai has already completed more than sixty percent of its shooting part. Recently, the film’s unit shot a Holi-themed song at Binny Mills in Chennai.

In Kaatru Veliyidai, Karthi will be essaying the role of a pilot and he will reportedly sport three distinct looks, including a clean shaven look. This is the first time in his decade-long career that Karthi will be seen without a moustache. A latest picture of Karthi without a moustache is making a huge splash on the internet.

Kaatru Veliyidai’s unit has taken a brief holiday after the Pondicherry schedule, and the shooting will resume in the next week.

 

Having collaborated with Mani Ratnam's Ok Kanmani, which was released in Telugu as Ok Bangaram, popular producer and distributor Dil Raju has acquired the theatrical rights of the Telugu dubbed version of the former's upcoming film Kaatru Veliyidai.

Apparently, producer Bandla Ganesh had originally planned to buy the rights and was ready to offer even more than what Ratnam's camp had quoted. However, the deal was offered to Raju because of his previous collaboration and the brand value of his production company.

Starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the roles of a pilot and doctor respectively, the film has music by A.R Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.

 

It is a known fact that Mani Ratnam has already started filming his upcoming project with Karthi and Adi Rao Hydari. Latest update reveals that the filming is nearing its completion and the ace director will wrap the film completely by December.

Karthi will be seen in an all new look in this film which will be mostly shot in Shimla. Aditi Rao plays a girl from the hilly area and Karthi is a pilot in the film. A R Rahman scores music.

 

Mani Ratnam, one of India’s finest filmmakers, is currently shooting his forthcoming romantic drama, Kaatru Veliyidai. These days,the director is in the picturesque Ladakh, where he will shoot an action sequence under stunt coordinator Sham Kaushal’s supervision.

The pre-production work is currently on to picturize a realistic and first of its kind action sequence. After wrapping up the Ladakh schedule, the movie’s unit will once again head back to Kashmir in October to can a few more scenes featuring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari.

 

Mani Ratnam is said to be canning off his next film Kaatru Veliyidai at a breakneck. After starting off the shoot at Ooty, the team is now in Ladakh planning an action sequence. Famous Bollywood stunt choreographer Sham Kaushal is working on this cross border action scene which will feature Karthi.

After this schedule, Ratnam plans to move to Hyderabad to shoot the rest of the film. About 60% of the footage has been registered, and the rest will be wrapped up by the end of the year.



AR Rahman composes the music while Vairamuthu pens all the lyrics for this romantic story.

 

After completing the final schedule of his Kashmora directed by Gokul, Karthi is said to have run straight to the gym in order to tone his body for the Mani Ratnam. Yes, the actor will be sporting a lean look for his role of a pilot in the romantic musical, and will have to lose up to 10 kilos in the space of the next three months.

Ace lyricist Vairamuthu has recently revealed through a Periscope session that the film would have an abundant score of music by AR Rahman, with songs throughout.



Karthi will take on this film by the end of September, according to close sources in the industry.
