Just a few minutes back, Suriya announced the film's title in his official Twitter handle with the first look poster. The film has been titled as*Naachiyar. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja is composing the tunes for this movie, while Theni Eshwar and Sathish Suriya take care of the cinematography and editing departments respectively.


Shooting for the film is expected to start in a week's time, and it is said that this project will be a quickie from Bala.

 

Popular Kannada producer Rockline Venkatesh, who produced movies such as Ravi Teja’s Power and Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, is all set to play a crucial role in acclaimed Tamil director Bala’s much-awaited movie, Naachiyaar, which also stars Jyothika.



Rockline Venkatesh had earlier acted in a special cameo in Ram Gopal Varma’s Telugu-Kannada bilingual, Killing Veerappan. Venkatesh will not be essaying the antagonist’s role in Bala’s movie, but his character has a lot of importance in the film’s narrative

 

However, when HT got in touch with a close source from the team, the reports were trashed as baseless rumours. “The film is centred on the bold journey of the life of Jyothika. GV Prakash plays a criminal in the movie. It’s not based on any real-life story,” says our source.
Jyothika will reportedly essay the role of a cop in the film, which will have music composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. It must be noted that Ilaiyaraaja won the National Film Award for Best Background Score for his tremendous work in Bala’s last outing Thaarai Thappattai, which tanked at the box office. Since Naachiyaar marks the fifth collaboration between Raja and Bala, the expectation among music connoisseurs is palpable on social media platforms.

Jointly produced by Bala’s B Studios and Eon Studios, the principal shooting of the film is likely to commence soon in Chennai. The muhurat of the project was conducted on March 1 in the city and was attended by Suriya and the cast and crew of the film.
