Date : 21/03/2017 Theater : Q Cinemas Time : 9:50am Status : 30% Alamara is undeniably Midhun's weakest film till date.Except for the ensemble cast and few engaging moments,Alamara doesn't have anything new nor interesting to offer.A rather lazy narration and a much seen plot are the basic factors which circumferences this movie to an average zone. The exceptionally good performances are indeed the saving grace of this cinema.Sunny Wayne yet again comes up with a superbly controlled, matured and subtle performance,he is one among the actors who grows by each cinema.Aditi Ravi in her debut venture did a commendable job,she delivered a neat performance without any hiccups of a newcomer. There is ahuge array of supporting actors and most of them puts up a fine performance.Aju Vargheese,Saiju Kurup,Manikandan,Renji Panicker,Sudhi Kopa,Seema G.Nair and Sadiq were good in prominent roles.Indrans was wasted in a poorly sketched character which looked totally unnecessary and the sub plot featuring him was brought in without much use. Technically,Alamara is an ordinary product. This has all the flaws of a small budget cinema which is not so common these days, this clearly has the outlook of quickly packed up product. The frames were moderate, nothing worth mentioning on the dop section.Editing was below par with some good numbers of continuity errors.Music is unimpressive with not even one song worth remembering.Bgm was okay at best.Midhun is director who comes with some innovative ideas and both his previous flicks were such entertaining movies. But,Alamara doesn't quite live up to the expectation of a Midhun Manuel Thomas cinema. In short,Alamara may turn out be an average experience if you keep your expectations low,but I'm disappointed since i really enjoyed his previous works and expected quite a lot from this cinema. Overall,Alamara is Average ! Verdict : Average ! Rating : 5/10 B.O Verdict : Flop
