Stephen Kings' IT is one of the most read horror novels of all time. I came across this novel when i was studying in 4th standard. IT gave me chills during that age. Years later, when i read it, it was more fun and less scare. When Andres Muschietti directorial movie came to theatres, i was expecting a light treatment of the subject without compromising on fear factor. Because that was all IT is about. Our own childhood fears. And Andres delivered it big time. What i personally found interesting is the connection between characterisation of Demonic clown and main antagonist of Jeepers Creepers. If pennywise hunts in every 27 years, for creeper it is every 23 years and after that both of them hibernate. Gender of both of them is not mentioned and usually referred as 'It' and hence the name. But the most striking similarity between creeper and pennywise is that both of them feeds on fear. Since children are considered to be vulnerable to these fears, Pennywise the demonic clown thinks it is fun to play with them. Derry a fictional american neighbourhood witness a lot of child missing cases through out its history. Movie is about a group of friends (Who calls themselves Loosers Gang) confronting this demonic clown when IT abducts one of them. One of the well made movies in recent years, IT spends a significant amount of its lengthy running time on each of The Losers’ Club’s personal experiences with clown. After a point of time, you will found this thing repetitive and boring. With a running time close to 2hr 15 mts, IT is quite lengthy as a normal Indian movie. A better editing could have made IT one of the best movies in the genre. However the good performances from lead actors, engaging screenplay and direction and not to mention an excellent cinematography which perfectly set the mood, makes IT a memorable cinematic experience. Rating:3.5/5 NEVER EXPECT ANOTHER ANNABELLE ..IT IS 'SERIOUSLY' FUN nb: short review, sorry for grammatical mistakes
