Kakshi Ammini Pilla Q Cinemas, 10:30am 50% A worthwhile story to tell and bravura performances working to its advantage, Kakshi Ammini Pilla is a genuine entertainer based on sheer facts. The film runs for a sweet little about two hours with no shabby humor or blatant slapstick, it's a rib-tickling comedy which is a pleasure to watch not just for it's satirical humour, but for its absolute authenticity and earnestness. Advocate Pradeepan Manjody is the kind of character where one finds how delightful Asif Ali is, and it definitely shows his remarkable growth as a competent performer. From the look to the walk and the talk, Asif has got the small town lawyer down pat. The rest of the cast is superb, nonetheless, a special mention should be given to Basil Joseph for his whimsical performance. A simple yet gripping narrative, solid production values, homespun milieu and top-notch performances, Kakshi Ammini Pilla is a film worth watching and I savoured every moment of it. What an year this has been for Asif Luca ( Very Short Review ) Q Cinemas, 1:00pm 60% On a concept level, Luca had the potential to be an intriguing thriller, nonetheless, a clumsy narrative and mediocre performances confine it into a pretty tedious experience. In short, Luca is a wasted opportunity !
