As reported by us, a biopic on actress Savitri is currently being made. The film has been titled as 'Nadigaiyar Thilagam' in the Tamil version, while it will be called as Mahanati in Telugu. Nag Ashwin wields the directorial hat for this film.


Earlier it was said Samantha would be playing the lead; then some reports said Keerthy Suresh had replaced her in the film, but now it is official that both Samantha and Keerthy Suresh will be a part of the project and Keerthy Suresh will be playing the role of Savitri in this film.

What is being reported for quite long about the biopic on legendary actress Nadigaiyar Thilagam Savithri has just been confirmed now through the official First look poster released by the makers.



Leading heroines Samantha and Keerthy Suresh is officially on board for the biopic that will be directed as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual by Nag Ashwin and the project will be bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema banner.

The first look that has been released on the International Women's Day with the tagline 'தலைமுறைகள் பெருமைப்படும் மகா நடிகை சாவித்திரியின் கதை’ (The story of the great actress Savithri who has made many generations proud).

Keerthy Suresh is expected to play the lead role as Savithri and Samantha will be playing the character of a present day girl through whom the story is narrated.

More details about the project will be revealed soon by the makers.
